Memphis’ Animal Shelter Over Crowded

 MEMPHIS (LPL) — More than 40 animals have been dropped off today at the Memphis Animal Shelter, said Steve Shular from the Shelby County’ Sheriff Office in a press release, today (Tue, Nov 27).

However, with an estimated 200 dogs and cats already at the shelter, the facility now has limited space to house additional animals.

Shular is asking people to take animals to other shelters until the Memphis Animal Shelter reopens later this week.

The shelter should reopen for routine business this coming Thursday morning, Shular said.
