Ad Deadline:
Ads are due by 12:00 noon on Tuesday for the upcoming Sunday issue.
How to Send Your Ads
Ads for La Prensa Latina should be e-mailed to your account executive.
We accept ads primarily through e-mail. We allow up to 20MB e-mail attachments although your mail server may have its own size restrictions. Please contact us for FTP information for files over 20MB. We will also accept CD/DVDs via mail or courier. If your ad is production-ready, please send it in PDF format with all type converted to outlines. If we will be making any changes to your ad, including adding Spanish translation, it must be sent in Illustrator, EPS, or InDesign format with all fonts/graphics embedded or included as separate files. We do not accept Publisher, PowerPoint, Freehand, CorelDraw, or Quark XPress files.
Billing Policies
Payment Terms:
All ads must be pre-paid, except accounts with pre-approved credit. New advertisers must submit payment with first four insertions to establish credit.
Net due 10 days from invoice date. A $15.00 late fee will be added to accounts delinquent past 35 days from invoice date per period
Policies:
Advertisers will indemnify and hold harmless the Publisher for any claims, damages or liability resulting from publication of any advertising copy submitted by the Advertisers, including suit costs and reasonable attorney’s fees. Advertisers warrant that any copy submitted is truthful and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Publisher reserves the right to omit, reject or revise any advertisements. Publisher accepts no liability for their failure, for any reason, to insert an advertisement.
No allowance will be granted for any errors that do not materially affect the value of the ad. Credit for errors on the part of the publisher is limited to partial or complete refund of the cost of the advertisement.
Publisher is not liable for damages beyond ad costs. No credit will be given for any errors following client proof approval.
Contract Terms:
Cancellations are accepted via written notice up until the ad deadline for the contracted issue. Publisher reserves the right to charge the advertiser the full cost of the ad contracted for.
Advertisers will be short-rate invoiced, if the advertiser within a 12 month period from the date of the insertion, fails to use the total space insertions contracted for. Advertiser will be billed the difference between the actual rate earned and the rate contracted for.
Client agrees to pay all legal/collection fees incurred in the collection of any unpaid balances.
Agency commission of 15% to recognized agencies providing camera-ready materials. Payment must be received within 30 days of space billing. Guaranteed placement is available at a 15% premium.
Due to paper and ink price fluctuations, Ad rates are subject to change.
Artwork and Space Policies
Mechanical Specs:
Ads should be submitted with raster elements no lower than 300 dpi.
We have an external trim so bleeds are not necessary, although we do recommend a live area equal to the ad size minus 1/4” .
Ads submitted that do not conform with the printed size specifications will be reduced, enlarged, or floated at the discretion of the Publisher. We make no guarantee for the reproduction quality of any artwork that must be re-sized.
Publisher strongly discourages the use of reverse ads with Serif typefaces.
Best results achieved on reverses using a maximum 70 line screen and 10 pt. type or larger.
Acceptable Ad Forms:
We accept only digital files for ad submissions via CD, DVD, FTP, or E-Mail. Preferred file formats for digital submissions are:
- Option A: Adobe Illustrator, PDF, or EPS with fonts converted to outlines.
- Option B: Packaged Adobe InDesign file or native Illustrator file (All fonts and graphics must be included).
Other file formats such as JPEG, TIFF, or PSD will be accepted provided they are of sufficient resolution and quality; please call the art director for further details and specifications.
Please note that if we will be updating your ads with new ad-copy etc, you must provide your ad based on “Option B” above.
We do not accept Publisher, PowerPoint, Freehand, or Quark XPress files.
Space & Art Deadlines:
Space reservations and materials for ads requiring production work are due by 12 pm CST on Tuesday for the following Sunday’s publication.
Ad Usage:
Ads created by La Prensa Latina may only be used in our publications. The right to publish our artwork in other publications can be purchased for an additional fee. Please contact your account executive for details.
