Niño de 9 años ayuda a salvar a su madre durante brutal ataque; hombre es acusado de intentar matarla y morderle el rostro

(LPL) – Un niño de 9 años logró ayudar a salvar a su madre durante un violento ataque ocurrido dentro de un vehículo en Memphis, después de que la Policía acusara a un hombre de intentar estrangular a su expareja, tratar de romperle el cuello y morderle la mejilla hasta arrancarle tejido de su rostro.

El sospechoso fue identificado como Khy’ric Mason, de 27 años, quien fue arrestado el lunes y enfrenta cargos de intento de asesinato en primer grado, secuestro, robo de propiedad entre $2,500 y $10,000 y agresión doméstica.

De acuerdo con la Policía de Memphis, el ataque ocurrió en la cuadra 2000 de Shenandoah Drive, cuando Mason y su expareja se encontraban dentro del vehículo de la mujer junto al hijo de ella.

Según el reporte policial, la discusión comenzó cuando el teléfono de la víctima empezó a sonar y Mason se molestó porque ella no le dijo quién estaba llamando. La mujer declaró que Mason le pidió a su hijo de 9 años que saliera del vehículo para que ellos pudieran hablar a solas.

Una vez que el niño salió del automóvil, Mason habría cerrado las puertas con seguro y comenzó la agresión.

La víctima dijo a los investigadores que Mason la tomó por el cuello con ambas manos e intentó asfixiarla. Además, aseguró que el hombre comenzó a halarle y girarle el cuello con fuerza, aparentemente intentando romperlo.

Durante el ataque, la mujer logró activar la bocina del vehículo para pedir ayuda. Mason presuntamente la arrastró hacia el asiento trasero mientras continuaba sujetándola del cuello.

La víctima relató que mordió el dedo de Mason para intentar defenderse, pero el hombre continuó con la agresión y luego le mordió la mejilla izquierda, provocándole una grave herida con pérdida de tejido.

Según la investigación, mientras ocurría el ataque, el hijo de la mujer logró abrir la puerta del lado del pasajero e intentó ayudar a su madre a escapar del vehículo. Después del incidente, Mason presuntamente huyó conduciendo el automóvil de la víctima.

La mujer sufrió moretones y abrasiones en el pecho y cuello, además de una lesión severa en la mejilla.

Mason permanecía bajo custodia y está programado para comparecer ante un juez el miércoles. El caso continúa bajo investigación por parte de la Policía de Memphis.

(LPL) – A 9-year-old boy helped save his mother during a violent attack inside a vehicle in Memphis, after police accused a man of attempting to strangle his ex-girlfriend, trying to break her neck, and biting her cheek hard enough to tear away tissue.

The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Khy’ric Mason; he was arrested on Monday and faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, kidnapping, theft of property valued between $2,500 and $10,000, and domestic assault.

According to the Memphis Police Department, the attack took place in the 2000 block of Shenandoah Drive, while Mason and his ex-girlfriend were inside the woman’s vehicle with her son.

The police report states that an argument began when the victim’s phone rang and Mason became angry because she would not tell him who was calling. The woman stated that Mason asked her 9-year-old son to get out of the vehicle so they could talk privately.

Once the boy was out of the car, Mason allegedly locked the doors and the assault began.

The victim told investigators that Mason grabbed her by the neck with both hands and tried to strangle her. She also stated that he forcefully pulled and twisted her neck, apparently attempting to break it.

During the attack, the woman managed to honk the vehicle’s horn to call for help. Mason allegedly dragged her into the back seat while continuing to hold her by the neck.

The victim recounted biting Mason’s finger in self-defense, but he continued the assault and then bit her left cheek, causing a severe wound that resulted in tissue loss.

According to the investigation, while the attack was underway, the woman’s son managed to open the passenger-side door and tried to help his mother escape the vehicle. After the incident, Mason allegedly fled in the victim’s car. The woman suffered bruising and abrasions on her chest and neck, as well as a severe injury to her cheek.

Mason remained in custody and is scheduled to appear before a judge on Wednesday. The case remains under investigation by the Memphis Police Department.
