Identifican a madre y sus dos hijos como víctimas fatales en accidente múltiple en la I-40

Franchesca Roland, testigo del accidente, contó a FOX13 que intentó ayudar a rescatar a las víctimas junto a otros presentes.

“Logramos sacar a una pasajera y comenzamos a darle RCP,” relató Roland, visiblemente afectada. “Tuvimos que moverla varias veces para alejarla del fuego. Fue una escena caótica.”

Una amiga cercana señaló que los hijos de Cannady eran inseparables de ella, y que la familia era muy unida.

Mother and Two Sons Identified as Victims in Fatal I-40 Multi-Car Crash

(LPL/FOX13) – The three people killed in a tragic multi-vehicle crash Saturday on Interstate 40 near Hollywood have been identified as Tonya Cannady and her two sons, Barry and Scott. The family lost their lives when their vehicle caught fire after the collision.

The news has left the community in shock, especially Cannady’s friends and coworkers, who are still trying to come to terms with the devastating loss. Cannady worked for Youth Villages, serving as the nutrition services manager for their West Tennessee residential facilities.

According to her social media, Cannady recently celebrated 20 years with the organization. Youth Villages confirmed the deaths and expressed deep sorrow in a statement:

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ms. Tonya Cannady along with her sons, Barry and Scott, in yesterday’s tragic car crash. Ms. Cannady was a beloved part of our organization, marking 22 years with Youth Villages this year. She touched the lives of thousands, including children and staff. She will be missed by so many.”

Franchesca Roland, a witness at the scene, told FOX13 that she and others tried to help pull the victims from the vehicle.

“We were able to get one passenger out and began performing CPR,” Roland recalled emotionally. “We had to keep picking her up and moving her away from the fire. It was a lot—so much going on.”

A close friend said Cannady and her sons were inseparable and shared a very close bond.

According to a preliminary report from Memphis Police, the crash involved five vehicles and sent one other person to the hospital. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
