On May 24, 2015, officers responded to a shooting at South Fourth Street and Dr. MLK Jr. Avenue near the FedEx Forum.
Following a ten-year investigation, police say Timothy Davis, 33, was determined to be the person responsible for the murder.
Davis was charged with second-degree murder. His bond has been set at $250,000.
According to police, the army sergeant and his girlfriend were walking after leaving Beale Street when three men in a dark-colored car started yelling at Wilhite’s girlfriend. Wilhite, 26, and the men got into an argument, and one of the men began shooting.
