El incidente ocurrió en el restaurante Mariscos El Gallo, donde, según la policía, una mujer identificada como Alycia Upshaw, de 36 años, sostuvo una fuerte discusión con su novia tanto dentro como fuera del establecimiento. Investigadores indicaron que cámaras de vigilancia captaron a la sospechosa golpeando a la otra mujer mientras ambas se encontraban dentro de un vehículo en el estacionamiento.

Posteriormente, las dos ingresaron al restaurante, pero la discusión continuó y volvió a trasladarse al exterior. Fue entonces cuando, de acuerdo con las autoridades, Upshaw subió al automóvil y presuntamente aceleró de manera intencional contra el edificio, atravesando parte de la fachada e impactando el área donde trabajaban empleados.

Una trabajadora del restaurante resultó lesionada tras el choque y fue trasladada a un hospital en condición no crítica, según los reportes. Además, el impacto causó daños importantes dentro del negocio, destruyendo mesas, ventanas y parte de la estructura frontal.

La policía informó que la sospechosa intentó abandonar la escena después del choque, pero fue detenida poco después por oficiales de Memphis. Upshaw enfrenta varios cargos relacionados con el incidente, incluidos daños a la propiedad y agresión.

Argument Between Women Ends with Car Crashing into Hispanic Restaurant on Lamar: One Person Injured

(LPL) – A car ended up embedded inside a Memphis restaurant after a domestic dispute violently escalated on Sunday night, leaving an employee injured and causing significant damage to the business.

The incident occurred at Mariscos El Gallo restaurant, where, according to police, a woman identified as Alycia Upshaw, 36, had a heated argument with her girlfriend both inside and outside the establishment. Investigators stated that surveillance cameras captured the suspect striking the other woman while both were inside a vehicle in the parking lot.

Subsequently, the two entered the restaurant, but the argument continued and moved back outside. It was then that, according to authorities, Upshaw got into the car and allegedly intentionally accelerated into the building, crashing through part of the facade and impacting the area where employees were working.

A restaurant employee was injured in the crash and was transported to a hospital in non-critical condition, according to reports. Additionally, the impact caused extensive damage inside the business, destroying tables, windows, and part of the front structure.

Police reported that the suspect attempted to flee the scene after the crash but was apprehended shortly thereafter by Memphis officers. Upshaw faces several charges related to the incident, including property damage and assault.

Authorities continue to investigate the case.
