Two killed in South Memphis shooting, suspects wanted
(LPL/WREG) – Dos personas murieron tras un tiroteo cerca de una escuela en el sur de Memphis.
La Policía de Memphis respondió a un tiroteo en Mississippi Boulevard, cerca de South Lauderdale Street, a pocos pasos de la escuela secundaria Booker T. Washington, a las 3 p. m. del jueves.
Según el subjefe Webb Kirkdoffer, dos hombres fueron declarados muertos en el lugar de los hechos. La Policía de Memphis no reveló la edad de las víctimas.
La escuela secundaria Booker T. Washington fue cerrada. Kirkdoffer afirma que la policía pudo comunicarse con la escuela y que el cierre se levantó posteriormente.
Kirkdoffer afirma que los investigadores de homicidios están investigando la zona en busca de imágenes de videovigilancia y otras pruebas que puedan conducir a los sospechosos responsables del tiroteo.
Un testigo declaró a WREG que vio a tres hombres con pasamontañas y rifles automáticos persiguiendo a alguien. Se oyeron disparos y la multitud se dispersó.
El testigo afirmó que los sospechosos dispararon al individuo entre seis y diez veces, y luego regresaron y dispararon más. El testigo llamó al 911.
El testigo también declaró a WREG que ambos hombres que recibieron disparos eran adolescentes y que había al menos tres hombres armados. También creen que podría haber otros heridos.
La policía informó que en los apartamentos Full Park South City se encontraron casquillos de bala relacionados con el incidente.
La policía de Memphis no ha publicado información sobre los sospechosos por el momento.

Memphis Police responded to a shooting on Mississippi Boulevard near South Lauderdale Street, steps away from Booker T. Washington High School, at 3 p.m. Thursday.
According to Deputy Chief Webb Kirkdoffer, two males were pronounced dead on the scene. Memphis Police did not give the ages of the victims.
Booker T. Washington High School was placed on lockdown. Kirkdoffer says that police were able to communicate with the school, and the lockdown was later lifted.
Kirkdoffer says homicide investigators are canvassing the area for video surveillance footage and other evidence that can lead them to the suspects responsible for the shooting.
A witness told WREG he saw three men in ski masks with automatic rifles chasing someone. Shots were fired, and a crowd scattered.
The witness said the suspects shot the individual six to 10 times, then came back and fired more shots. The witness called 911.
The witness also told WREG that both were males who were shot were teens, and that there were at least three gunmen. They also believe that there may have been others wounded.
Police said that at Full Park South City apartments, there were shell casings found in connection with the incident.
Memphis police have not released information about the suspects at this time.
