(LPL/FOX13) – La policía informó que se produjeron disparos con pocos minutos de diferencia en Orange Mound el viernes por la mañana, matando a un hombre y hiriendo a otro.
La Policía de Memphis (MPD) informó que los agentes recibieron una llamada poco después de la 1 a. m. por un tiroteo en una gasolinera cerca de Park Avenue y Airways Boulevard. Los investigadores se enteraron de que un hombre había recibido un disparo a pocos metros de distancia, en la cuadra 2300 de Saratoga Avenue, y corrió hacia la gasolinera.
Mientras la policía investigaba el tiroteo, alguien se acercó a los agentes y les dijo que un hombre había recibido un disparo en la calle Ethel, a pocos pasos del mercado. La policía informó que el hombre murió a causa de sus heridas.
MPD indicó que los tiroteos no estaban relacionados.
“Ninguno de los dos delitos estaba relacionado”, declaró el coronel Carlos Davis del MPD. “Simplemente ocurrieron prácticamente al mismo tiempo”.
En un informe, la policía indicó que el hombre que recibió un disparo en la gasolinera sufrió heridas graves.
Una mujer declaró a los investigadores que reportó el tiroteo tras entrar al estacionamiento de Save & Go y ver a un hombre con una herida de bala tirado en la acera junto a una motoneta. También dijo que escuchó al hombre decirle a alguien que se alejara de él “porque le había tendido una trampa”.

(LPL/WREG) -Gunfire erupted within minutes of each other in Orange Mound on Friday morning, killing one man and injuring another man, police said.
Memphis Police (MPD) said officers were called just after 1 a.m. to a shooting at a gas station near Park Avenue and Airways Boulevard. Investigators learned a man had been shot a few feet away on the 2300 block of Saratoga Avenue and ran to the gas station.
While police were investigating that shooting, someone went up to officers and said a man had been shot on Ethel Street, which is a short walk from the market. Police said that man died from his injuries.
MPD said the shootings were not related.
“Neither crime were related,” MPD Col. Carlos Davis said. “They just occurred pretty much at the same time.”
In a report, police said the man shot at the gas station suffered critical injuries.
A woman told investigators that she called in the shooting after she pulled into the parking lot of Save & Go and saw a man with a gunshot wound lying on the sidewalk next to a scooter. She also said she heard the man telling someone to get away from him “because he set him up.”
