Dos mujeres luchan por su vida tras accidente en la I-240 entre la Lamar y Getwell Ave.

(LPL) – Dos mujeres resultaron gravemente heridas en un accidente de tránsito ocurrido la tarde de este miércoles en la Interestatal 240, en dirección oeste, informó la Policía de Memphis (MPD).

Los agentes acudieron alrededor de las 2:30 p. m. al lugar del accidente, cerca de la salida de Getwell Road y Lamar Avenue, donde encontraron una colisión que dejó un vehículo oscuro con daños severos.

De acuerdo con las autoridades, las dos mujeres fueron trasladadas a un hospital en estado crítico. Hasta el momento, no se han divulgado sus identidades ni más detalles sobre las circunstancias en las que ocurrió el choque.

El accidente también provocó importantes afectaciones al tráfico. A las 2:45 p. m., los dos carriles de la izquierda en dirección oeste permanecían cerrados mientras los equipos de emergencia trabajaban en el lugar.

La congestión vehicular se extendía hacia el este hasta la zona de Mount Moriah Road, por lo que se recomendó a los conductores buscar rutas alternas y evitar el área.

La causa del accidente permanece bajo investigación policial.

Two women are fighting for their lives following an accident on I-240 between Lamar and Getwell Avenues

(LPL) – Two women were seriously injured in a traffic accident that occurred this Wednesday afternoon on the westbound side of Interstate 240, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) reported.

Officers arrived at the scene—near the Getwell Road and Lamar Avenue exit—around 2:30 p.m., where they encountered a collision that left a dark-colored vehicle severely damaged.

According to authorities, both women were transported to a hospital in critical condition. As of now, their identities have not been released, and no further details regarding the circumstances of the crash have been provided.

The accident also caused significant traffic disruptions. By 2:45 p.m., the two left-hand westbound lanes remained closed while emergency crews worked at the scene.

Traffic congestion extended eastward as far as the Mount Moriah Road area; drivers were advised to seek alternate routes and avoid the vicinity.

The cause of the accident remains under police investigation.
