Jessica se encontraba sentada en su auto, afuera del bar Tequila Town, cuando una bala perdida atravesó la ventana e impactó su cabeza. No tenía nada que ver con el conflicto. Simplemente estaba en el lugar equivocado, en el momento equivocado.

“Nadie sabía que esto iba a pasar. Si Jessica lo hubiera sabido, jamás habría estado allí. Fue una coincidencia trágica”, dijo su prima a un medio local. “Mi mente se quedó en blanco. No sabía si llorar o quedarme quieta. Nada así le había pasado antes a nuestra familia.”

Según la policía de Memphis, el tiroteo ocurrió cuando un guardia de seguridad sacó a una pareja del establecimiento por comportamiento agresivo. El hombre, identificado como José Montoya, de 27 años, y su esposa Judith Ramírez, de 26, regresaron armados y comenzaron a disparar. (LPL) – What was supposed to be a peaceful night ended in tragedy for Jessica Miranda, a 23-year-old Hispanic woman who is now fighting for her life after being shot in the head while caught in the middle of a shootout in northeast Memphis.

Jessica was sitting in her car outside the Tequila Town bar when a stray bullet flew through the window and struck her head. She had nothing to do with the conflict. She was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“No one knew this was going to happen. If Jessica had known, she would never have been there. It was a tragic coincidence,” said her cousin to a local media. “My mind went blank. I didn’t know whether to cry or stay still. Nothing like this had ever happened to our family before.”

According to Memphis police, the shooting occurred when a security guard removed a couple from the establishment for aggressive behavior. The man, identified as José Montoya, 27, and his wife, Judith Ramírez, 26, returned armed and began shooting. The exchange of gunfire with the guard ultimately affected Jessica, who had no relationship with them.

Jessica, described by her loved ones as a cheerful, intelligent young woman with an inspiring spirit, remains hospitalized in critical condition. Her family clings to faith while they wait for a miracle. “The fact that she survived this first blow shows how strong she is. She’s fighting for her life. God is with her,” her cousin said.
