Mujer resulta gravemente herida tras choque en la I-40, entre la Sycamore View y la Sam Cooper

(LPL) – Una mujer resultó gravemente herida tras un choque de dos vehículos ocurrido la mañana de este viernes en la Interestatal 40 Este, cerca de Sycamore View Road y Sam Cooper Boulevard, informó la Policía de Memphis.

Los agentes respondieron alrededor de las 6:26 a.m. al accidente, en el que estuvieron involucrados dos vehículos. La mujer fue localizada en el lugar con heridas y trasladada a un hospital del área, donde se encontraba en condición crítica.

El accidente provocó importantes afectaciones al tráfico durante la mañana. La Policía informó que el choque bloqueó el acotamiento izquierdo y cinco carriles centrales de la I-40 Este, lo que ocasionó que el tránsito se acumulara prácticamente hasta detenerse.

Las autoridades recomendaron a los conductores utilizar rutas alternativas mientras los equipos trabajaban en la escena.

Hasta el momento, no se ha informado qué provocó el choque, y la investigación continúa.

El accidente ocurrió en una zona de la I-40 que conecta con Sam Cooper Boulevard y registra un alto volumen de tráfico durante las primeras horas de la mañana.

(LPL) – A woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Friday morning on eastbound Interstate 40, near Sycamore View Road and Sam Cooper Boulevard, Memphis Police reported.

Officers responded to the two-vehicle accident at approximately 6:26 a.m. The woman was found at the scene with injuries and was transported to an area hospital, where she remained in critical condition.

The accident caused significant traffic disruptions throughout the morning. Police reported that the crash blocked the left shoulder and five center lanes of eastbound I-40, causing traffic to back up to a near-standstill.

Authorities advised drivers to use alternative routes while crews worked at the scene.
