Policía de Southaven le disparó a un hombre que intentó arrollar a los oficiales en un carro robado

(LPL/CNN) – Un hombre fue detenido tras embestir presuntamente vehículos policiales e intentar atropellar a un agente con un coche robado en Southaven la mañana del viernes.

Según el Departamento de Policía de Southaven (SPD), los agentes recibieron una llamada alrededor de las 10:45 a. m. a un Sonic en Main Street por un vehículo robado en la zona. Llegaron y encontraron al sospechoso cerca, según informó la policía.

La policía indicó que los agentes intentaron detener al sospechoso, pero este embistió contra vehículos del SPD.

El SPD indicó que posteriormente intentó atropellar a un agente, lo que provocó disparos. El sospechoso fue capturado tras una breve persecución a pie, según la policía.

Shots fired as man tries to run over Southaven officer in stolen car

(LPL/CNN) – A man was taken into custody after he allegedly rammed into police vehicles and tried to run over an officer with a stolen car in Southaven on Friday morning.

According to the Southaven Police Department (SPD), officers were called around 10:45 a.m. to a Sonic on Main Street about a stolen vehicle in the area. They arrived and found the suspect close by, police said.

Police said officers tried to stop the suspect but he rammed into SPD vehicles.

SPD said he then tried to run over an officer, leading to shots being fired. The suspect was caught after a short foot chase, police said.
Police said they were not looking for anyone else, adding that there was no danger to the public.
