Reportan varios árboles derribados tras tormentas del domingo en Memphis

(LPL) – Varios árboles derribados fueron reportados en distintas zonas de Memphis luego de las fuertes tormentas que azotaron la ciudad y gran parte del Medio-Sur la noche del domingo.

De acuerdo con el despacho de la policía de Memphis, la mañana del lunes se reportó un árbol caído en la intersección de McCorkle Road y Shelby Drive. Otro árbol también cayó en el área de Whitehaven, en el cruce de Faronia Road y Marlin Road.

Además, en Midtown se informó de otro árbol derribado en Madison Avenue y North Avalon Street. Un televidente compartió fotografías que muestran el árbol bloqueando completamente la vía.

Las tormentas severas que atravesaron Memphis y otras partes del Medio-Sur durante la noche estuvieron acompañadas de fuertes ráfagas de viento y lluvias intensas, lo que provocó la caída de árboles y algunos daños menores en distintas áreas de la ciudad.

Como consecuencia del mal tiempo, más de 10 mil viviendas quedaron sin electricidad durante la noche del domingo. Sin embargo, para la mañana del lunes la mayoría de los clientes ya habían recuperado el servicio, luego de los trabajos de reparación realizados por las cuadrillas eléctricas.

Hasta el momento no se han reportado personas lesionadas relacionadas con estos incidentes.

Several Downed Trees Reported in Memphis Following Sunday Storms

(LPL) – Several downed trees were reported in various parts of Memphis following the severe storms that battered the city—and much of the Mid-South—on Sunday night.

According to the Memphis Police Department, a fallen tree was reported Monday morning at the intersection of McCorkle Road and Shelby Drive. Another tree also fell in the Whitehaven area, at the junction of Faronia Road and Marlin Road.

Additionally, another downed tree was reported in Midtown, at Madison Avenue and North Avalon Street. A viewer shared photographs showing the tree completely blocking the roadway.

The severe storms that swept through Memphis and other parts of the Mid-South overnight were accompanied by strong wind gusts and heavy rains, resulting in downed trees and some minor damage across various areas of the city.

As a result of the inclement weather, more than 10,000 households were left without power on Sunday night. However, by Monday morning, most customers had already had their service restored following repair work carried out by utility crews.

As of now, no injuries related to these incidents have been reported.
