(LPL/ABC24) – A crash involving a utility pole caused downed power lines and power outages in Southeast Memphis early Monday morning, May 11.

According to the Memphis Police Department, officers responded to an accident at 4:30 a.m. near Ridgeway Road and Mount Moriah.

Upon arrival, police found that a car had crashed into a pole, causing power lines to fall in the area.
The driver was reportedly still inside the car when officers arrived.

Officers say no injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation.

The Memphis Light, Gas, and Water outage map showed that an initial 2,784 customers were affected, and that number has slowly been declining throughout the morning.
