Según el Departamento de Policía de Memphis (MPD), los agentes acudieron poco antes de las 2:40 a. m. a la calle North Montgomery, cerca de la avenida Jackson, tras recibir una llamada por disparos. Al llegar, encontraron a un hombre muerto por disparos, según la policía.
El MPD no dio a conocer de inmediato más detalles, ni información sobre posibles sospechosos.
El mayor del MPD, Brett Williams, indicó que los investigadores seguían trabajando en la recopilación de pruebas y añadió que no tenían un motivo inmediato del tiroteo.

1 dead after shooting in North Memphis
(LPL/FOX13) – A man lost his life after gunfire erupted early Thursday morning in North Memphis, police said.
According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), officers responded just before 2:40 a.m. to North Montgomery Street off Jackson Avenue for a shots fired call. They arrived to find a man had died by gunfire, police said.
MPD did not immediately release further details, including information on possible suspects.
MPD Maj. Brett Williams said that investigators were still working on gathering evidence, adding that they did not immediately have a motive behind the shooting.
As police continued to investigate the shooting early Thursday morning, family members were seen gathered outside a home on North Montgomery Street. They told FOX13 that the man killed was a father in his late 20s.
“We understand what the family is going through,” Williams said. “Unfortunately, we go through this quite often and we just reach out and give our hearts and prayers to the family at this time and help do what we need to do to make them feel more comfortable in their time of grief.”
