Aumenta a 113 la lista de fallecidos luego del derrumbe en discoteca dominicana, incluyendo al cantante Rubby Pérez

The death toll from the Dominican nightclub collapse has risen to 113, including singer Rubby Pérez.

(LPL/LD) – El director del Centro de Operaciones de Emergencias (COE), Juan Manuel Méndez, informó que hay 113 personas fallecidas, cifra preliminar, producto del desplome de techo de la discoteca Jet Set.

Asimismo, indicó que el número de traslados a centros hospitalarios se mantiene en 155.

Por su parte el director del Instituto Nacional de Patología Forense, Santo Jiménez Páez, había informado que en la entidad había 33 cadáveres sin identificar, por lo que la cifra de muertos iba a aumentar.

Entre las víctimas mortales las autoridades han reportado al artista Rubby Pérez, a la gobernadora de Monte Cristi, Nelsy Cruz, así como al expelotero de grandes ligas Octavio Dotel.

El presidente de la República, Luis Abinader había declarado tres días de duelo nacional, medida contenida en el decreto 194-25 que incluía los días 8, 9 y 10 de abril.

“La Bandera Nacional deberá, durante estos días, ondear a media asta en los recintos militares y edificios públicos de todo el país”, reza el decreto.

Méndez señaló que a más de 24 horas distintos organismos especializados se mantienen en el lugar de los hechos brindando asistencia.

Respecto a la identificación de los cadáveres señaló que el Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Forenses (Inacif) es quien procederá a la identificación de los cadáveres.

La tragedia ocurrió la madrugada de este martes, mientras el merenguero Rubby Pérez amenizaba una fiesta en el centro de diversión que albergaba decenas de personas que se encontraban compartiendo.

Méndez agregó que en las labores de búsqueda se mantienen unos 300 brigadistas, quienes permanecerán en la búsqueda de desaparecidos mientras familiares continúen señalando víctimas.

Agregó que a la búsqueda se han integrado brigadistas de Puerto Rico e Israel para fortalecer al equipo.

Indicó que en el equipo cuentan con gato hidráulico, rotomartillo y otros instrumentos con los que han puntualizado las zonas “conforme a los estándares internacionales”.

He also indicated that the number of transfers to hospitals remains at 155.

Meanwhile, the director of the National Institute of Forensic Pathology, Santo Jiménez Páez, had reported that there were 33 unidentified bodies in the state, suggesting the death toll was likely to rise.

Among the fatalities, authorities have reported the artist Rubby Pérez, the governor of Monte Cristi, Nelsy Cruz, and former major league baseball player Octavio Dotel.

President Luis Abinader had declared three days of national mourning, a measure contained in decree 194-25 that included April 8, 9, and 10.

“The National Flag must, during these days, fly at half-mast on military precincts and public buildings throughout the country,” the decree states.

Méndez noted that various specialized agencies have been on the scene for more than 24 hours, providing assistance.

Regarding the identification of the bodies, he indicated that the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) will proceed with the identification of the bodies.

The tragedy occurred early Tuesday morning, while merengue singer Rubby Pérez was entertaining a party at the entertainment center, which was hosting dozens of people who were enjoying themselves.

Méndez added that approximately 300 brigade members remain involved in the search, searching for missing persons as long as family members continue to identify victims.

He added that brigade members from Puerto Rico and Israel have joined the search to strengthen the team.

He indicated that the team includes a hydraulic jack, a rotary hammer, and other tools with which they have marked the areas “in accordance with international standards.”
