En un informe, la Policía de Memphis (MPD) informó que un agente respondió poco después de las 5:50 a. m. del lunes a un apuñalamiento en la gasolinera. El agente llegó y encontró a un hombre —que se cree acababa de apuñalar a alguien— con un arma blanca, pero no dio más detalles sobre el arma.
El sospechoso intentó entonces atacar al agente con el arma, lo que provocó que este le disparara, informó la policía. El MPD indicó que el agente inmediatamente prestó auxilio al sospechoso y solicitó ayuda al Departamento de Bomberos de Memphis (MFD).
El hombre que recibió el disparo se encontraba en estado crítico cuando fue trasladado de urgencia a un hospital, donde falleció, informó la policía.
El Departamento de Policía de Memphis (MPD) también informó que el hombre apuñalado por el sospechoso fue atendido y dado de alta, y agregó que sus lesiones no ponían en peligro su vida.

Police officer shoots, kills stabbing suspect during attack at gas station at Parkway Village
(LPL/FOX13) – A police officer shot and killed a stabbing suspect during an attack Monday morning at a Parkway Village gas station, officials said.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) confirmed that a police shooting took place at a Shell on Winchester Road off South Goodlett Street.
In a report, Memphis Police (MPD) said an officer responded just after 5:50 a.m. Monday to a stabbing at the gas station. The officer arrived to find a man — believed to have just stabbed someone — with “an edged weapon” but did not elaborate further on the weapon.
The suspect then tried to attack the officer with the weapon, leading the officer to fire a shot at the suspect, police said. MPD said the officer “immediately” rendered aid on the suspect and requested help from the Memphis Fire Department (MFD).
The man who was shot was in critical condition when he was rushed to a hospital, where he died, police said.
MPD also said that the man who was stabbed by the suspect was treated and released, adding that his injuries were not considered life-threatening.
TBI said it would lead the investigation into the police shooting and did not release further details.
