Accidente en Midtown causa daños a restaurante mexicano durante la madrugada

(LPL) – Un accidente ocurrido en plena madrugada dejó daños significativos en un restaurante mexicano ubicado en el área de Midtown, luego de que un conductor perdiera el control de su vehículo y se estrellara contra el edificio.

El incidente se registró poco antes de las 2 a.m. en el restaurante Frida’s, situado sobre Madison Avenue, cerca de Belvedere Boulevard. Imágenes de cámaras de seguridad captaron el momento en que una camioneta GMC negra se desvía y termina impactando el costado del establecimiento.

De acuerdo con la gerencia del restaurante, el choque no solo afectó la estructura exterior, sino que también provocó daños en el interior, incluyendo mesas y sillas.

La policía de Memphis acudió al lugar alrededor de la 1:57 a.m. Al llegar, los oficiales intentaron comunicarse con el conductor, quien presentaba episodios de pérdida de conciencia. Posteriormente, fue trasladado a un hospital cercano, donde se reporta en condición estable y fuera de peligro.

Además del impacto contra el restaurante, las autoridades indicaron que el conductor también chocó contra un poste de servicios públicos de MLGW en la zona.

Mientras equipos de construcción trabajan en las reparaciones, el restaurante continúa operando y atendiendo a sus clientes. El conductor fue citado por varias infracciones, entre ellas falta de registro adecuado del vehículo, no contar con seguro y colisionar contra un objeto fijo.

Accident in Midtown Causes Damage to Mexican Restaurant in Early Morning Hours

(LPL) – An accident occurring in the dead of night left significant damage to a Mexican restaurant located in the Midtown area, after a driver lost control of their vehicle and crashed into the building.

The incident was reported shortly before 2 a.m. at Frida’s restaurant, situated on Madison Avenue near Belvedere Boulevard. Security camera footage captured the moment a black GMC pickup truck veered off course and slammed into the side of the establishment.

According to restaurant management, the crash not only affected the exterior structure but also caused damage to the interior, including tables and chairs.

Memphis police officers arrived at the scene around 1:57 a.m. Upon arrival, officers attempted to communicate with the driver, who was experiencing intermittent loss of consciousness. The driver was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital, where they are reported to be in stable condition and out of danger.

In addition to crashing into the restaurant, authorities indicated that the driver also struck an MLGW utility pole in the area.

While construction crews work on repairs, the restaurant remains open and continues to serve its customers. The driver was cited for several violations, including improper vehicle registration, lack of insurance, and striking a fixed object.
