Casi 1,500 usuarios siguen sin electricidad debido a las tormentas que afectaron a Memphis y el Medio-Sur la noche del lunes

(LPL) – Las interrupciones de energía continuaron afectando a miles de clientes de Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) este martes, luego de las fuertes tormentas que atravesaron el Medio Sur entre la noche del lunes y la madrugada del martes.

De acuerdo con el mapa oficial, 1,493 clientes sin servicio eléctrico, con los sectores más afectados concentrados principalmente en East Memphis, donde se registraron múltiples reportes simultáneos de fallas.

La actualización del sistema muestra que los apagones están directamente relacionados con el paso del sistema de tormentas, que dejó vientos fuertes, lluvia intensa y actividad eléctrica en gran parte del área metropolitana de Memphis. Las condiciones climáticas provocaron daños en líneas eléctricas y equipos de distribución en varios puntos de la ciudad.

MLGW indicó que las cuadrillas continúan trabajando en la evaluación de daños y en la restauración del servicio, aunque advirtió que las reparaciones pueden ser más lentas en zonas con mayor concentración de árboles caídos o líneas afectadas.

Las autoridades de la empresa de servicios públicos recomiendan a los clientes mantenerse atentos al mapa de interrupciones, ya que el número de afectados puede cambiar rápidamente a medida que avanzan las labores de reparación y nuevas evaluaciones en campo.

(LPL) – TPower outages continued to affect thousands of Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) customers this Tuesday, following severe storms that swept across the Mid-South between Monday night and the early hours of Tuesday morning.

According to the official outage map, 1,493 customers remain without power, with the most affected areas concentrated primarily in East Memphis, where multiple simultaneous reports of outages were recorded.

System updates indicate that the blackouts are directly linked to the passage of the storm system, which brought strong winds, heavy rain, and lightning activity to much of the Memphis metropolitan area. The weather conditions caused damage to power lines and distribution equipment at various locations throughout the city.

MLGW stated that crews are continuing to work on assessing damage and restoring service, though the utility warned that repairs may proceed more slowly in areas with a higher concentration of fallen trees or damaged power lines.

Utility officials advise customers to keep a close watch on the outage map, as the number of affected customers may change rapidly as repair efforts and field assessments progress.
