The family did not know who they were meeting for the purchase or why they ended up on River Road.
The two were traveling in a white pickup truck that still contained their work tools. Waterman also recounted that an investigator told a family member that tire marks found at the scene might indicate the victims had tried to escape.
“It looks like they were trying to flee the scene,” he said. Now, five months after the crime, Lark’s arrest marks the first major public breakthrough in the search for the person responsible for the deaths of Víctor and Serenity. However, authorities have not yet disclosed full details regarding the evidence that led to his identification, and the investigation remains open.
