Investigan muerte de una mujer tras una “piscinada” en el noreste de Memphis

(LPL) – El Departamento de Policía de Memphis investiga la muerte de una mujer cuyo cuerpo fue encontrado el domingo por la tarde en el patio trasero de una residencia ubicada en Worchester Lane, en el noreste de la ciudad. El hallazgo se produjo tras una fiesta en la piscina celebrada el día anterior en la misma vivienda.

Según informaron las autoridades, a las 2:23 p.m. del domingo recibieron un reporte de una persona sospechosa en el lugar. Al llegar, los agentes encontraron a una mujer sin vida, quien fue declarada muerta en la escena. Hasta el momento, la policía no ha revelado detalles sobre la identidad de la víctima ni la causa de su fallecimiento.

Vecinos del área señalaron que el sábado por la tarde se llevó a cabo una concurrida fiesta en la piscina con decenas de personas, la cual se extendió hasta entrada la noche. El ambiente festivo cambió drásticamente al día siguiente, cuando entre ocho y diez patrullas, junto con una unidad forense, llegaron al domicilio para iniciar las investigaciones.

“Es muy triste que algo así ocurra cuando la gente está simplemente disfrutando”, comentó un vecino, quien prefirió no ser identificado.

Los residentes del vecindario describieron al dueño de la casa como una persona amable y tranquila, y afirmaron que anteriormente se han realizado reuniones en la vivienda sin incidentes.

El canal de noticias WREG intentó obtener declaraciones en la casa, pero no recibió respuesta. La policía no ha confirmado si efectivamente hubo una reunión el día previo al hallazgo ni ha especificado cómo murió la mujer.

(LPL) – The Memphis Police Department is investigating the death of a woman whose body was found Sunday afternoon in the backyard of a home on Worchester Lane, in northeast Memphis. The discovery came after a pool party was reportedly held at the residence the previous day.

According to police, officers responded to a suspicious person call at around 2:23 p.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, they found a woman who was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity or the cause of death.

Neighbors reported that a large pool party took place at the home on Saturday afternoon, with dozens of attendees. The gathering appeared to continue into the evening. However, the atmosphere shifted dramatically the next day when approximately eight to ten patrol cars and a forensic van arrived to begin an investigation.

“It’s very sad when something like this happens while people are just trying to have a good time,” said one neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous.

Residents described the homeowner as friendly and well-known in the area, noting that similar parties have been held at the house in the past without incident.

Local news channel WREG attempted to speak with someone at the home, but no one answered the door.

Police have not confirmed whether a gathering took place the day before the woman’s body was found, nor have they disclosed how they believe she died.
