Joven hispano murió ahogado tras presunto ataque de compañero de clases

(LPL) – La muerte del joven hispano Yahir Valiente-Alba, de 16 años, ha conmocionado a la comunidad de Ellisville, Mississippi, luego de que las autoridades arrestaran y acusaran a uno de sus compañeros de escuela por su presunta participación en el caso.

De acuerdo con la investigación, Yahir, estudiante de primer año en South Jones High School y miembro de una liga local de fútbol, murió tras un incidente ocurrido cerca de una gasolinera Texaco sobre la carretera MS-590. Las autoridades confirmaron que otro estudiante fue detenido y posteriormente acusado de homicidio involuntario.

Testigos presenciales relataron una escena violenta y desesperante. Randall Blair, quien aseguró haber observado todo lo ocurrido, contó a los medios locales que tres adolescentes llegaron juntos al estacionamiento en un vehículo. Según su relato, uno de ellos salió del automóvil alterado y comenzó a golpear la cajuela antes de perseguir a los otros dos jóvenes.

Blair afirmó que uno de los adolescentes logró escapar en el vehículo, mientras que Yahir fue perseguido hasta un estanque cercano. Allí, según el testigo, el sospechoso lo golpeó y lo mantuvo bajo el agua.

El testigo también aseguró que varias personas intentaron intervenir para ayudar al joven hispano, pero el agresor supuestamente amenazó a quienes estaban cerca diciendo que tenía un arma, lo que provocó temor entre los presentes.

Cuando la policía llegó al lugar, Yahir ya había fallecido.

According to the investigation, Yahir—a freshman at South Jones High School and a member of a local soccer league—died following an incident that occurred near a Texaco gas station on Highway MS-590. Eyewitnesses described a violent and harrowing scene. Randall Blair, who claimed to have witnessed the entire event, told local media that three teenagers arrived together in the parking lot in a vehicle. When police arrived at the scene, Yahir had already passed away.
