Mexicano está en estado crítico tras recibir varios disparos durante el ataque a oficinas del ICE

(LPL/CNN) – Un ciudadano mexicano se encuentra en estado crítico tras recibir varios disparos, incluyendo al menos uno en el cuello, durante el ataque a una instalación del Servicio de Inmigración y Control de Aduanas (ICE, por sus siglas en inglés) en Dallas esta semana, según Univisión, afiliada de CNN.

Miguel Ángel García se encuentra con soporte vital tras recibir entre tres y cuatro disparos, según informó a Univisión su hermano, Fernando Gutiérrez. Una fuente familiarizada con el asunto también confirmó que García resultó herido en el tiroteo.
García, originario de San Luis Potosí, México, ha vivido en Estados Unidos durante dos décadas, donde trabajó como pintor, según declaró Gutiérrez a Univisión.

Otros dos detenidos recibieron disparos en el ataque del miércoles, incluyendo una persona que falleció. Las autoridades no han identificado a ninguna de las víctimas del tiroteo.

Se cree que el atacante es Joshua Jahn, de 29 años, según tres fuentes familiarizadas con el caso.

Las notas manuscritas que dejó Jahn indicaban “odio hacia el gobierno federal” y llevaron a los investigadores a creer que pretendía atacar al personal y la propiedad del ICE, a pesar de que las tres víctimas eran detenidos.

“La trágica ironía de su siniestro plan es que un detenido murió y otros dos resultaron heridos”, declaró Nancy Larson, fiscal federal interina para el Distrito Norte de Texas, en una conferencia de prensa el jueves.

Los demás detenidos que presenciaron el tiroteo resultaron ilesos y continuarán con sus trámites migratorios, informaron funcionarios federales el jueves.

La madre de García fue deportada hace dos meses y solicita poder regresar a Estados Unidos para ver a su hijo, dijo Gutiérrez.

Mexican man in critical condition after being shot multiple times during attack on ICE offices

A Mexican citizen is in critical condition after being shot multiple times, including at least once in the neck, during the attack on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas this week, according to CNN affiliate Univision.

Miguel Ángel García is on life support after being shot three to four times, his brother, Fernando Gutiérrez, told Univision. A source familiar with the matter also confirmed that García was wounded in the shooting.
García, originally from San Luis Potosí, Mexico, has lived in the United States for two decades, where he worked as a painter, Gutiérrez told Univision.

Two other detainees were shot in Wednesday’s attack, including one who died. Authorities have not identified either of the shooting victims.

The shooter is believed to be 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, according to three sources familiar with the case.

The handwritten notes Jahn left behind indicated “hatred toward the federal government” and led investigators to believe he intended to attack ICE personnel and property, even though the three victims were detainees.

“The tragic irony of his sinister plan is that one detainee was killed and two others were injured,” Nancy Larson, acting U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas, said at a press conference Thursday.

The other detainees who witnessed the shooting were unharmed and will continue their immigration proceedings, federal officials said Thursday.

García’s mother was deported two months ago and is requesting to return to the United States to see her son, Gutiérrez said.
