(LPL) – Las autoridades de Memphis arrestaron a tres jóvenes —José Perkins, 18; José Salcedo, 18; y un menor de 15 años— por su presunta participación en una serie de robos a mano armada y el uso de un vehículo robado que provocó una persecución policial la madrugada del lunes.

Los tres enfrentan cargos por evadir el arresto a pie, robo agravado (4 cargos cada uno) y hurto de propiedad valuada entre $2,500 y $10,000.

Perkins enfrenta además conducción imprudente, evadir arresto en vehículo y conducir con la licencia suspendida/cancelada/revocada.

Según los investigadores, la cadena de delitos comenzó el domingo por la mañana, cuando un Chrysler 300 fue robado del estacionamiento del motel Sleep Inn en Perkins Road. El dueño había dejado el auto encendido alrededor de las 5:20 a.m. y al regresar encontró la ventana rota. Cámaras cercanas captaron a dos hombres llegando en un Nissan blanco, rompiendo el vidrio y llevándose el vehículo.

Ya el lunes, alrededor de la 1:00 a.m., el Chrysler fue utilizado en un robo frente al Gold Club, en North White Station Road. La víctima dijo que, después de retirar dinero de un cajero automático, fue seguida por los sospechosos hasta el estacionamiento. Dos hombres armados lo obligaron a tirarse al suelo, le robaron 70 dólares y lo amenazaron de muerte si no entregaba todo su efectivo. También revisaron su vehículo antes de huir. Luego condujo a su trabajo en FedEx y llamó a la policía.

(LPL) – Memphis authorities arrested three young men—Jose Perkins, 18; Jose Salcedo, 18; and a 15-year-old minor—for their alleged involvement in a series of armed robberies and the use of a stolen vehicle that led to a police chase early Monday morning.

The three face charges of evading arrest on foot, aggravated robbery (four counts each), and theft of property valued between $2,500 and $10,000.
Perkins also faces charges of reckless driving, evading arrest in a vehicle, and driving with a suspended/cancelled/revoked license.

According to investigators, the crime spree began Sunday morning when a Chrysler 300 was stolen from the parking lot of the Sleep Inn motel on Perkins Road. The owner had left the car running around 5:20 a.m. and upon returning found the window smashed. Nearby security cameras captured two men arriving in a white Nissan, breaking the window, and driving off with the vehicle.

On Monday, around 1:00 a.m., the Chrysler was used in a robbery in front of the Gold Club on North White Station Road. The victim said that after withdrawing money from an ATM, he was followed by suspects into the parking lot. Two armed men forced him to the ground, stole $70, and threatened to kill him if he didn’t hand over all his cash. They also searched his vehicle before fleeing. He then drove to his job at FedEx and called the police.

While officers were investigating, another similar robbery was reported in Tequila Town, also linked to the same Chrysler 300.

At 4:50 a.m., officers located the vehicle near Central Avenue and Glenn Rogers Sr. Street. A chase ensued, involving the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The pursuit ended on Wells Station Road, near Verbena Drive, where the three suspects abandoned the car and fled on foot. All three were apprehended shortly afterward.

Police continue to gather evidence, but confirmed that the three detainees are linked to both the Chrysler robbery and the subsequent assaults.
