Nuevo tiroteo en la Winchester Avenue eleva la preocupación tras violento fin de semana en el sureste de Memphis

De acuerdo con la Policía de Memphis (MPD), los agentes respondieron alrededor de las 5:20 a.m. a un reporte de disparos en el 4300 de la Winchester Road. Al llegar, encontraron a una mujer con una herida de bala, quien fue trasladada al hospital en estado crítico, informaron las autoridades.

Hasta el momento no se han realizado arrestos y la investigación continúa. La policía no ha revelado qué provocó el ataque ni ha informado sobre posibles sospechosos.

Este nuevo incidente ocurre luego de un violento fin de semana en la zona. Durante la madrugada del domingo, la policía investigó dos tiroteos separados en un centro comercial ubicado en la cuadra 6600 de Winchester Road, en Hickory Hill. En total, cinco personas resultaron heridas.

El primer tiroteo ocurrió alrededor de las 12:15 a.m., cuando un hombre fue baleado y posteriormente llegó por sus propios medios a un hospital, donde fue reportado en estado crítico. Cerca de dos horas después, otro hombre fue herido de bala en el mismo sector y trasladado a un hospital en condición no crítica. Más tarde, otros tres hombres acudieron por separado a hospitales del área con heridas de bala sufridas en ese mismo lugar. Los cinco lesionados sobrevivieron y la policía investiga si ambos ataques están relacionados.

(LPL) – (LPL) – A new shooting early Monday morning in the Parkway Village neighborhood has raised alarms again in Southeast Memphis, coming just hours after five people were wounded in two separate shootings on Sunday at a shopping center in nearby Hickory Hill.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 4300 block of Winchester Road around 5:20 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound; she was transported to the hospital in critical condition, authorities reported.
No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation is ongoing. Police have not disclosed what triggered the attack or provided information regarding potential suspects.

This latest incident follows a violent weekend in the area. Early Sunday morning, police investigated two separate shootings at a shopping center located in the 6600 block of Winchester Road in Hickory Hill. A total of five people were injured.

The first shooting occurred around 12:15 a.m., when a man was shot and subsequently made his own way to a hospital, where he was reported to be in critical condition. About two hours later, another man was shot in the same area and taken to a hospital in non-critical condition. Later, three other men arrived separately at area hospitals with gunshot wounds sustained at the same location. All five victims survived, and police are investigating whether the two attacks are connected.

The proximity of the incidents and the short timeframe in which they occurred have sparked concern among residents of Southeast Memphis, an area once again facing a wave of gun violence.
