Operativo federal termina en tiroteo mortal en un Burguer King de Frayser

(LPL) – Un operativo federal terminó en un tiroteo mortal la mañana de este miércoles en un restaurante Burger King, en el área de Frayser, luego de que agentes intentaran ejecutar una orden de arresto contra un hombre buscado por delitos violentos.

De acuerdo con la Administración para el Control de Drogas (DEA, por sus siglas en inglés), agentes que forman parte de la Memphis Safe Task Force localizaron al sospechoso en el establecimiento ubicado sobre North Hollywood Street, cerca de James Road. Las autoridades identificaron al hombre como Darrin Pigram, quien era buscado por cargos de asalto agravado, robo agravado y uso de arma de fuego durante la comisión de un delito.

Según la versión oficial, cuando los agentes se acercaron para arrestarlo, Pigram supuestamente llevó la mano hacia la cintura y sacó un arma, lo que provocó que uno de los oficiales abriera fuego. El sospechoso fue trasladado a un hospital, donde posteriormente murió a causa de sus heridas.

El incidente provocó una fuerte movilización policiaca en la zona, incluyendo la presencia de la Policía de Memphis, el Buró Federal de Investigaciones (FBI) y miembros de la Guardia Nacional. No se reportaron otros heridos durante el operativo.

La Oficina del Fiscal de Distrito solicitó a la Oficina de Investigaciones de Tennessee (TBI) que encabece la investigación para esclarecer las circunstancias del tiroteo.

Federal Operation Ends in Fatal Shooting at Frayser Burger King

(LPL) – A federal operation ended in a fatal shooting this Wednesday morning at a Burger King restaurant in the Frayser area, after agents attempted to execute an arrest warrant for a man wanted for violent crimes.

According to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), agents assigned to the Memphis Safe Task Force located the suspect at the establishment situated on North Hollywood Street, near James Road. Authorities identified the man as Darrin Pigram, who was wanted on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated robbery, and the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

According to the official account, when agents approached to arrest him, Pigram allegedly reached for his waistband and drew a weapon, prompting one of the officers to open fire. The suspect was transported to a hospital, where he subsequently died from his injuries.

The incident triggered a heavy police response in the area, including the presence of the Memphis Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and members of the National Guard. No other injuries were reported during the operation.

The District Attorney’s Office has requested that the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) lead the investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
