(LPL) -Nuevos detalles han surgido sobre el robo y tiroteo ocurrido el pasado 31 de octubre en el centro comercial ubicado entre la Germantown Parkway y la Dexter Rd., frente al restaurant Corky’s BBQ.

Según los documentos judiciales, Marquis Davis, de 18 años, ingresó a la tienda Exotic Smoke Shop haciéndose pasar por cliente. En lugar de comprar algo, sacó un arma con cargador extendido, apuntó a la empleada y exigió dinero. Aunque la mujer entregó aproximadamente 400 dólares, Davis le disparó en el abdomen.

La víctima fue trasladada al hospital, donde requirió cirugía por la herida en el abdomen y otra en la espalda; además sufrió una lesión renal y los médicos tuvieron que extirpar parte de su páncreas y todo su bazo.

Tras el robo, Davis huyó hacia Corky’s BBQ, donde fue interceptado por miembros de la Memphis Safe Task Force y dos agentes de Homeland Security Investigations.

En la escena se encontró un arma de fuego negra con cargador extendido y 370 dólares en efectivo. Davis fue llevado al hospital, y ningún oficial resultó herido durante el operativo.

El Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmó que un agente de Homeland Security Investigations efectuó el disparo que detuvo a Davis.

Davis enfrenta cargos por intento de asesinato en primer grado, robo agravado y uso de un arma de fuego durante la comisión de un delito grave. Su fianza fue fijada en 250,000 dólares.

(LPL) – New details have emerged about the robbery and shooting that occurred on October 31 at the shopping center located between Germantown Parkway and Dexter Rd., across from Corky’s BBQ.

According to court documents, 18-year-old Marquis Davis entered the Exotic Smoke Shop posing as a customer. Instead of making a purchase, he pulled out a gun with an extended magazine, pointed it at the employee, and demanded money. Although the woman handed over approximately $400, Davis shot her in the abdomen.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where she required surgery for the abdominal wound and another to her back; she also suffered a kidney injury, and doctors had to remove part of her pancreas and her entire spleen.

After the robbery, Davis fled toward Corky’s BBQ, where he was apprehended by members of the Memphis Safe Task Force and two agents from Homeland Security Investigations.

A black handgun with an extended magazine and $370 in cash were found at the scene. Davis was taken to the hospital, and no officers were injured during the operation.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed that a Homeland Security Investigations agent fired the shot that stopped Davis.

Davis faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. His bail was set at $250,000.
