Trump publica imagen de Venezuela como estado 51 de EE. UU.

(LPL/EN) – El presidente estadounidense Donald Trump intensificó la controversia sobre Venezuela al publicar en su red social Truth Social una imagen del mapa venezolano cubierto con la bandera de Estados Unidos y la frase “estado 51”.
Esta publicación surge apenas horas después de que el mandatario declarara en una entrevista telefónica con el periodista de Fox News John Roberts que está “considerando seriamente” la adhesión del país como un nuevo estado de la Unión.
Un detalle relevante de la imagen compartida por Trump es que el mapa excluye el territorio del Esequibo, zona que Venezuela reclama y cuya disputa legal se dirime actualmente en la Corte Internacional de Justicia (CIJ).

Desde La Haya, la presidenta interina de Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, rechazó las insinuaciones del mandatario estadounidense.

Al ser consultada a su salida de una audiencia en la CIJ, Rodríguez dijo: “Jamás estaría previsto porque si algo tenemos los venezolanos y las venezolanas es que amamos nuestro proceso de independencia, amamos a nuestros héroes y heroínas de la independencia”.

Trump Posts Image of Venezuela as 51st U.S. State

(LPL/EN) – U.S. President Donald Trump escalated the controversy surrounding Venezuela by posting an image on his social media platform, Truth Social, depicting a map of Venezuela draped in the U.S. flag and bearing the phrase “51st State.”

This post appeared just hours after the President stated in a telephone interview with Fox News journalist John Roberts that he is “seriously considering” the country’s admission as a new state of the Union.
A noteworthy detail regarding the image shared by Trump is that the map excludes the Essequibo territory—a region claimed by Venezuela—the legal dispute over which is currently being adjudicated at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

From The Hague, Venezuela’s Acting President, Delcy Rodríguez, rejected the U.S. President’s insinuations.

When asked for comment as she departed a hearing at the ICJ, Rodríguez stated: “That would never be contemplated; for if there is one thing that we Venezuelans possess, it is a deep love for our process of independence—we cherish our heroes and heroines of independence.”
