Un tomacorriente provocó un incendio en una casa en el noreste de Memphis que dejó dos heridos

(LPL/FOX13) – Un incendio en una casa que se desató la madrugada del jueves en el barrio de Nutbush, en el noreste de Memphis, dejó dos heridos, informaron los bomberos.

Según el Departamento de Policía de Memphis (MPD), los agentes fueron llamados alrededor de las 4 a. m. para controlar el tráfico debido a un incendio en una casa en la avenida Hazelwood, cerca de la avenida Jackson y la calle National.

Dos personas, una en estado crítico y otra no crítico, resultaron heridas en el incendio, informó el MFD. Un teniente informó a FOX13 que había tres personas dentro de la casa cuando se declaró el incendio poco antes de las 4 a. m.
El teniente indicó que los residentes lograron salir sanos y salvos, pero una de ellas regresó a la casa para salvar a sus gatos. La mujer fue rescatada mientras los bomberos continuaban combatiendo el incendio, informó el MFD.

Un vecino informó a FOX13 que las dos personas trasladadas al hospital eran una madre y su hija. La tercera persona dentro de la casa aparentemente no resultó herida.

En un informe, el MFD indicó que el incendio fue accidental y causado por un tomacorriente. El departamento también señaló que no había detectores de humo que funcionaran en la casa.

Electrical outlet caused house fire in northeast Memphis that injured 2

(LPL/FOX13) – A house fire that erupted early Thursday morning in the Nutbush neighborhood of northeast Memphis injured two people, fire officials said.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), officers were called around 4 a.m. for traffic control for a house fire on Hazelwood Avenue off Jackson Avenue and National Street.

Two people — one critical, another non-critical — were injured in the fire, MFD said. A lieutenant told FOX13 that there were three people inside the home when a fire broke out just before 4 a.m.
The lieutenant said the residents safely got out but one of them went back into the home to save her cats. The woman was removed as firefighters continued to battle the fire, MFD said.

A neighbor told FOX13 that the two people transported to the hospital were a mother and her daughter. The third person inside the home appeared to not have been hurt.

In a report, MFD said the fire was accidental and caused by an electrical outlet. The department also noted that there was no working smoking detectors in the home.
