Una madre intentó atropellar a estudiantes de la Melrose High School con su coche durante una pelea escolar

(LPL/WMC) – El Departamento de Policía de Memphis arrestó y acusó a una mujer señalada de intentar atropellar a varios estudiantes durante una pelea en una escuela.

El 21 de abril, los agentes respondieron a una llamada por agresión en la escuela secundaria Melrose High School, ubicada en Deadrick Avenue.

Según la declaración jurada, una madre y sus tres hijas llegaron al recinto escolar para asistir a una reunión de padres y maestros de la banda musical de la escuela.

Tras la reunión, la policía informa que la madre se acercó a otra progenitora —identificada posteriormente como la sospechosa, Jasmine Dunmars— con la intención de conversar.
La declaración jurada indica que la madre confrontó a Dunmars alegando que su hijo era un acosador; este altercado verbal se tornó físico cuando la hija de Dunmars comenzó a pelear con otra estudiante.

Durante la pelea, la policía señala que Dunmars corrió hacia una estudiante y comenzó a golpearla. Acto seguido, subió a su vehículo y aceleró, embistiendo la puerta del lado del pasajero del coche de la otra madre.

Después de embestir el vehículo de la otra madre, el Departamento de Policía de Memphis (MPD) afirma que Dunmars dio marcha atrás e intentó atropellar a las estudiantes que estaban peleando. Las estudiantes lograron apartarse a tiempo, y Dunmars volvió a embestir el coche de la otra madre una vez más antes de abandonar el lugar de los hechos.

Tras una investigación más exhaustiva, Dunmars fue puesta bajo custodia e ingresada en prisión el 8 de mayo.
Actualmente enfrenta cargos por agresión agravada, puesta en peligro imprudente y vandalismo.

A mother attempted to run over Melrose High School students with her car during a school fight

(LPL/WMC) – The Memphis Police Department has arrested and charged a woman accused of attempting to run over several students during a fight at a school.

On April 21, officers responded to a call regarding an assault at Melrose High School, located on Deadrick Avenue.

According to an affidavit, a mother and her three daughters arrived at the school grounds to attend a parent-teacher meeting for the school band.

Following the meeting, police report that the mother approached another parent—later identified as the suspect, Jasmine Dunmars—with the intention of having a conversation.
The affidavit states that the mother confronted Dunmars, alleging that her son was a bully; this verbal altercation turned physical when Dunmars’ daughter began fighting with another student.

During the fight, police note that Dunmars ran toward a student and began striking her. Immediately afterward, she got into her vehicle and accelerated, ramming into the passenger-side door of the other mother’s car.

After ramming the other mother’s vehicle, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) states that Dunmars backed up and attempted to run over the students who were fighting. The students managed to get out of the way in time, and Dunmars rammed the other mother’s car once more before fleeing the scene.

Following a more thorough investigation, Dunmars was taken into custody and booked into jail on May 8.
She currently faces charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and vandalism.
