Recuperan cuerpo de hombre que se ahogó en un estanque cerca de la biblioteca de Raleigh

(LPL/WREG) – Equipos de búsqueda y rescate recuperaron el cuerpo de un hombre de un estanque frente a la biblioteca de Raleigh.

La policía de Memphis identificó a la víctima del ahogamiento como Michael Martindell, de 46 años.

Oficiales de policía y bomberos comenzaron la búsqueda en el estanque ubicado en el número 3452 de Austin Peay Highway después de que un Martindell fuera visto nadando en el embalse el martes por la noche.

Oficiales y bomberos buscaron en el agua durante varias horas, pero debido a la visibilidad limitada, tuvieron que suspender la operación y reanudarla esta mañana.

La Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Shelby también colaboró y publicó imágenes de la búsqueda. El cuerpo de Martindell fue localizado alrededor de las 4:30 p. m. del miércoles.

El Departamento de Policía de Memphis (MPD) informó que Martindell fue visto saltando al estanque y nadando en el agua. Se sumergió y no volvió a emerger.

MPD expresó su apoyo a la familia y seres queridos de Martindell.

Body recovered of man who drowned in pond near Raleigh library

(LPL/WREG) – Search and rescue crews have recovered the body of a man from a pond in front of the Raleigh library.

Memphis police have identified the drowning victim as Michael Martindell, 46.

Police officers and firefighters began searching the pond at 3452 Austin Peay Highway after a Martindell was seen swimming in the reservoir Tuesday night.

Officers and firefighters searched the water for several hours, but due to limited visibility, they had to suspend the operation and resume the search this morning.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office also assisted and released pictures of the search. Martindell’s body was located around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

MPD said Martindell was seen jumping into the pond and swimming in the water. He went under the water and did not resurface.

MPD said their thoughts are with Martindell’s family members and loved ones.
