Cerca de mil usuarios de MLGW siguen sin electricidad luego que una tormenta tumbara hasta 16 postes el jueves en Shelby Drive

(LPL) – Cerca de mil clientes de Luz, Gas y Agua de Memphis (MLGW) siguen sin electricidad la mañana de este viernes tras el paso de una tormenta por el condado de Shelby la tarde noche del jueves.

Una ráfaga de fuertes lluvias y vientos de entre 64 y 80 kilómetros por hora provocó la caída de cables eléctricos en la zona de East Shelby Drive y Getwell Road.

Al menos 16 postes de electricidad en Shelby Drive fueron derribados alrededor de las 7 p. m. del jueves. Al momento del incidente, unos 8,000 clientes se reportaron sin electricidad y hoy, los equipos de MLGW seguían trabajando en la limpieza.

El mapa de cortes de MLGW mostraba que a las 9:46 de la mañana de este viernes, 927 clientes seguían sin electricidad.

El Departamento de Policía de Memphis informó que afortunadamente no hubo heridos, pero que la zona permanecía bloqueada por los trabajos.

(LPL) – Nearly 1,000 Memphis Light, Gas & Water (MLGW) customers remain without power Friday morning after a storm passed through Shelby County Thursday evening.

A gust of heavy rain and winds between 40 and 50 mph downed power lines in the area of East Shelby Drive and Getwell Road.

At least 16 power poles on Shelby Drive were downed around 7 p.m. Thursday. At the time of the incident, approximately 8,000 customers reported being without power, and MLGW crews were still working to clean up the power.

The MLGW outage map showed that as of 9:46 a.m. Friday, 927 customers were still without power.
The Memphis Police Department reported that fortunately there were no injuries, but that the area remained blocked for work.
