Padre hispano enfrenta cargos tras presuntamente golpear a su hija con un cinturón y dejarle moretones

(LPL) – Una niña de 11 años logró pedir ayuda en un momento de desesperación y llevó a las autoridades hasta su propio padre, un hombre hispano acusado de golpearla y someterla a maltratos físicos que, según la menor, la hicieron temer por su vida.

El caso ocurrió en Hinesville, Georgia, donde la niña se acercó a una patrulla policial y, visiblemente alterada, le dijo al oficial que su padre estaba intentando matarla. De acuerdo con el reporte de las autoridades, la menor denunció que había sido golpeada por su padre, identificado como Anthony Salazar, de 35 años.

Los agentes observaron que la niña tenía moretones y marcas en ambas piernas. Al ser interrogado por la policía, Salazar habría admitido que golpeó a su hija utilizando un cinturón y reconoció que las lesiones podían ser visibles. Los investigadores también indicaron que el hombre había estado consumiendo alcohol antes del incidente.

Según la investigación, dentro de la vivienda fueron encontrados como evidencia un cinturón negro de cuero y un bate de béisbol. Salazar fue arrestado y enfrenta cargos de crueldad contra menores en primer grado, agresión agravada y dos cargos adicionales de crueldad contra menores en tercer grado.

La valentía de la niña fue destacada por las autoridades, ya que, a pesar de ser la víctima del presunto abuso, inicialmente rechazó atención médica y expresó mayor preocupación por la seguridad de sus dos hermanos menores, de 6 y 7 años, quienes también estaban en la vivienda durante el incidente.

El jefe de Policía de Hinesville, Tracey Howard, señaló que la acción de la menor pudo haber sido determinante para detener la situación y recordó que los casos de abuso infantil pueden tener consecuencias profundas en la vida de los niños.

Las autoridades indicaron que el Departamento de Servicios Familiares y de Niños continúa involucrado en el caso. Salazar fue liberado bajo fianza con la condición de no tener contacto con las víctimas mientras avanza el proceso judicial.

Hispanic father faces charges after allegedly hitting daughter with a belt and leaving bruises

(LPL) – An 11-year-old girl managed to seek help in a moment of desperation, leading authorities to her own father—a Hispanic man accused of beating and physically abusing her to the point where, according to the child, she feared for her life.

The incident took place in Hinesville, Georgia, where the girl approached a police patrol car and, visibly distressed, told the officer that her father was trying to kill her. According to the police report, the child stated she had been beaten by her father, identified as 35-year-old Anthony Salazar.

Officers observed bruises and marks on both of the girl’s legs. When questioned by police, Salazar reportedly admitted to hitting his daughter with a belt and acknowledged that the injuries might be visible. Investigators also noted that the man had been consuming alcohol prior to the incident.

According to the investigation, a black leather belt and a baseball bat were found inside the home as evidence. Salazar was arrested and faces charges of first-degree cruelty to children, aggravated assault, and two additional counts of third-degree cruelty to children.

Authorities highlighted the girl’s bravery; despite being the victim of the alleged abuse, she initially refused medical attention and expressed greater concern for the safety of her two younger siblings—aged 6 and 7—who were also in the home during the incident.

Hinesville Police Chief Tracey Howard noted that the child’s actions may have been crucial in stopping the situation, adding that cases of child abuse can have profound consequences on children’s lives.

Authorities stated that the Department of Family and Children Services remains involved in the case. Salazar was released on bond with the condition that he have no contact with the victims while the legal proceedings continue. The case once again draws attention to the importance of family members, neighbors, and community members remaining alert to signs of child abuse, especially during the summer months, when children spend more time away from the school environment and there are fewer opportunities for teachers or other adults to detect at-risk situations.
