Trump anuncia un alto el fuego de diez días entre Israel y el Líbano

(LPL/EFE) – El presidente Donald Trump, anunció este jueves que Israel y el Líbano han acordado a partir de hoy un alto el fuego de diez días para lograr la paz, después de sostener «excelentes» llamadas telefónicas con los líderes de ambas naciones.
«Acabo de mantener excelentes conversaciones con el muy respetado presidente Joseph Aoun, del Líbano, y con el primer ministro Bibi Netanyahu, de Israel. Estos dos líderes han acordado que, para lograr la PAZ entre sus países, iniciarán formalmente un alto el fuego de 10 días a las 5:00 p.m. EST», escribió Trump en su red Truth Social.
El estadounidense anunció en un segundo mensaje que invitará a Netanyahu y Aoun a la Casa Blanca “para las primeras conversaciones significativas entre Israel y el Líbano desde 1983, hace muchísimo tiempo”, sin ofrecer de momento una fecha concreta para el encuentro.

En su publicación, Trump recordó el diálogo bilateral sostenido en Washington el pasado martes entre Israel y el Líbano, que “se reunieron por primera vez en 34 años con nuestro gran secretario de Estado, Marco Rubio”.
“He instruido al vicepresidente JD Vance y al secretario de Estado Rubio, junto con el jefe del Estado Mayor Conjunto, Dan ‘Razin’ Caine”, para que trabajen con Israel y el Líbano a fin de lograr una PAZ duradera”, indicó en Truth Social.

Según Trump, “ha sido un honor” el “haber resuelto nueve guerras en todo el mundo, y esta será la décima”.

La tensión entre Israel y el Líbano amenazaba con hacer tambalear el frágil alto el fuego de dos semanas entre Estados Unidos e Irán, que concluirá el próximo 22 de abril mientras se espera que se retomen las conversaciones de paz en Pakistán.

El conflicto en Oriente Medio, iniciado por Estados Unidos e Israel el pasado 28 de febrero, no solo impacta en el aumento de la inestabilidad en la zona sino que ha afectado a la economía mundial, al interrumpir el tránsito por el estrecho de Ormuz, paso estratégico por el que circulaba el 20 % del petróleo de todo el mundo.

La cifra de muertos en Líbano por los ataques israelíes de las últimas seis semanas se eleva ya a 2.196, entre ellos 172 niños, y la de heridos a 7.185, de los que 661 son también menores, según las cifras divulgadas hoy por el centro de Operaciones de Emergencia, perteneciente al Ministerio de Salud Pública.

“I just held excellent conversations with the highly respected President Joseph Aoun of Lebanon and Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu of Israel. These two leaders have agreed that, in order to achieve PEACE between their countries, they will formally initiate a 10-day ceasefire at 5:00 p.m. EST,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
In a second message, the U.S. President announced that he would invite Netanyahu and Aoun to the White House “for the first significant talks between Israel and Lebanon since 1983—a very long time ago”—though he did not offer a specific date for the meeting at this time.

In his post, Trump recalled the bilateral dialogue held in Washington last Tuesday between Israel and Lebanon, noting that they “met for the first time in 34 years with our great Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.” “I have instructed Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Rubio, along with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan ‘Razin’ Caine,” to work with Israel and Lebanon to achieve a lasting PEACE,” he stated on Truth Social.

According to Trump, “it has been an honor” to have “resolved nine wars around the world, and this will be the tenth.”

Tensions between Israel and Lebanon threatened to destabilize the fragile two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran—which is set to expire on April 22—just as peace talks are expected to resume in Pakistan.

The death toll in Lebanon resulting from Israeli attacks over the past six weeks has now risen to 2,196—including 172 children—while the number of injured stands at 7,185, 661 of whom are also minors, according to figures released today by the Emergency Operations Center, an agency of the Ministry of Public Health.
