Memphis-Shelby County Schools invita a las familias a participar en jornadas gratuitas de vacunación antes del regreso a clases

(LPL) – Con el inicio del nuevo año escolar a la vuelta de la esquina, Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS), en colaboración con ShotRx y el Departamento de Salud del Condado de Shelby, realizará una serie de jornadas gratuitas de vacunación durante julio y agosto para ayudar a que los estudiantes cumplan con los requisitos de inmunización y comiencen las clases protegidos.

Las clínicas estarán abiertas a toda la comunidad y no será necesario registrarse previamente, por lo que las familias podrán acudir directamente a cualquiera de las sedes habilitadas.

Posteriormente, las vacunas estarán disponibles el 25 de julio, de 10:00 a.m. a 2:00 p.m., en Centenary Church (584 E. McLemore Ave.); el 1 de agosto, de 10:00 a.m. a 1:00 p.m., durante la Feria de Regreso a Clases en el Memphis Sports and Events Center (995 Early Maxwell Blvd.); el 15 de agosto, de 10:00 a.m. a 2:00 p.m., en Healing Center Church/Boys and Girls Club of Oakhaven (3910 Tchulahoma Rd.); el 22 de agosto, nuevamente en la Teaching and Learning Academy, de 10:00 a.m. a 2:00 p.m.; y el 29 de agosto, de 10:00 a.m. a 2:00 p.m., en Greater Imani Church (3824 Austin Peay Hwy.).

Memphis-Shelby County Schools invites families to participate in free vaccination events before the return to school

(LPL) -With the start of the new school year just around the corner, Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS)—in collaboration with ShotRx and the Shelby County Health Department—will host a series of free vaccination events throughout July and August. These events aim to help students meet immunization requirements and start classes protected.

The clinics will be open to the entire community, and no prior registration is required; families can simply show up at any of the designated locations.

The first event will take place on Saturday, July 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Teaching and Learning Academy (2485 Union Ave.), in partnership with the Shelby County Health Department.

Vaccines will subsequently be available on July 25 (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) at Centenary Church (584 E. McLemore Ave.); on August 1 (10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) during the Back-to-School Fair at the Memphis Sports and Events Center (995 Early Maxwell Blvd.); on August 15 (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) at Healing Center Church/Boys and Girls Club of Oakhaven (3910 Tchulahoma Rd.); on August 22 (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) again at the Teaching and Learning Academy; and on August 29 (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) at Greater Imani Church (3824 Austin Peay Hwy.). In addition to these events, ShotRx will offer further clinics at the Gaisman Community Center, located at 4221 Macon Road, on July 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (the events scheduled for June 24 and July 8 have already taken place).

School officials encourage parents to take advantage of these opportunities to ensure their children are up to date on the vaccinations required by the State of Tennessee before returning to school. Keeping vaccination records current not only facilitates school enrollment but also helps prevent the spread of disease and protects the health of students, teachers, and the entire community.
