Identifican a tres de las cinco víctimas del fatal accidente en la Hickory Hill entre un auto y una patrulla de policía

(LPL) – Tres de las cinco personas que murieron en un accidente automovilístico que involucró a una patrulla de la Policía de Memphis fueron identificadas por sus familiares, mientras las familias enfrentan la pérdida de los jóvenes fallecidos.

La víctima identificada más recientemente es Rodney McNeal, cuya familia y amigos se reunieron cerca del lugar del accidente para rendirle homenaje con una suelta de globos. Sus seres queridos lo recuerdan como un joven alegre, que siempre encontraba la manera de hacer reír a quienes lo rodeaban.

Las otras dos víctimas identificadas por sus familiares son Messiah Lee, de 22 años, y Syria Fifer, de 21. Lee acababa de obtener su título de enfermería, mientras que Fifer estaba trabajando para completar sus estudios universitarios.

El accidente ocurrió alrededor de las 12:26 a. m. del domingo 11 de octubre, en la intersección de Hickory Hill Road y East Raines Road. Según la Policía de Memphis, dos agentes se dirigían a atender una llamada relacionada con una persona que presuntamente había sido baleada cuando su patrulla chocó contra otro vehículo.

Cuatro ocupantes del otro automóvil murieron en el lugar y un quinto falleció posteriormente en el hospital. Una sexta persona que viajaba en ese vehículo fue trasladada a un centro médico en estado crítico. Los dos agentes también resultaron heridos y fueron dados de alta posteriormente.

La Patrulla de Caminos de Tennessee (THP) investiga las circunstancias del choque. Hasta el momento, las autoridades no han confirmado oficialmente las identidades de las cinco personas fallecidas.

Three of the five victims identified in fatal Hickory Hill crash involving a car and a police cruiser

(LPL) – Three of the five people who died in a car crash involving a Memphis Police cruiser have been identified by their relatives, as the families cope with the loss of the young victims.

The most recently identified victim is Rodney McNeal; his family and friends gathered near the crash site to pay tribute to him with a balloon release. Loved ones remember him as a cheerful young man who always found a way to make those around him laugh.

The other two victims identified by their families are Messiah Lee, 22, and Syria Fifer, 21. Lee had just earned a nursing degree, while Fifer was working toward completing her college education.

The crash occurred around 12:26 a.m. on Sunday, October 11, at the intersection of Hickory Hill Road and East Raines Road. According to the Memphis Police Department, two officers were responding to a call about a reported shooting when their cruiser collided with another vehicle.

Four occupants of the other car died at the scene, and a fifth later passed away at the hospital. A sixth person in that vehicle was transported to a medical center in critical condition. The two officers were also injured and were subsequently released from care.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is investigating the circumstances of the crash. Authorities have not yet officially confirmed the identities of the five deceased individuals.
