Fuerte accidente de tránsito en la Hickory Hill Road y Raines Road deja cinco muertos y tres heridos, incluidos dos policías

(LPL) – Cinco personas murieron y otras tres resultaron gravemente heridas, entre ellas dos agentes del Departamento de Policía de Memphis (MPD), tras un accidente ocurrido durante la madrugada del domingo 11 de octubre en la intersección de Hickory Hill Road y Raines Road.

De acuerdo con la información divulgada por la Policía de Memphis, alrededor de las 12:26 a. m., los agentes se dirigían a atender un reporte de una persona que necesitaba ayuda (man-down call) cerca de Flowering Peach Drive y Mendenhall Road cuando su vehículo chocó con otro automóvil en la intersección.

Los dos policías y dos ocupantes del otro vehículo fueron trasladados a un hospital en estado crítico. Posteriormente, uno de estos pasajeros murió debido a las heridas sufridas.

Las otras cuatro personas que viajaban en el segundo automóvil fueron declaradas muertas en el lugar del accidente, elevando a cinco el número total de víctimas mortales.

La Patrulla de Caminos de Tennessee (THP) está a cargo de la investigación para determinar las circunstancias del choque.

Severe crash at Hickory Hill Road and Raines Road leaves five dead and three injured, including two police officers

(LPL) – Five people died and three others were seriously injured—including two Memphis Police Department (MPD) officers—following a crash early Sunday morning, October 11, at the intersection of Hickory Hill Road and Raines Road.

According to information released by the Memphis Police, the officers were responding to a «man-down» call near Flowering Peach Drive and Mendenhall Road around 12:26 a.m. when their vehicle collided with another car at the intersection.

The two officers and two occupants of the other vehicle were transported to a hospital in critical condition. One of those passengers later died from their injuries.

The other four people traveling in the second car were pronounced dead at the scene, bringing the total number of fatalities to five.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is leading the investigation to determine the circumstances of the crash.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims or provided additional details regarding the cause of the accident. Further information is expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
