(LPL/CNN) – La Policía escolar está investigando la muerte por suicidio de una niña, después de que su madre dijera que otros estudiantes la hostigaban y la insultaban, alegando que su familia estaba en EE.UU. ilegalmente.
Jocelynn Rojo Carranza, de 11 años, murió el 8 de febrero, según un obituario en línea. Su funeral era el pasado miércoles.
Jocelynn fue hostigada y fue objeto de burlas en la escuela por el estatus migratorio de su familia, dijo su madre Marbella Carranza a la afiliada de CNN, KUVN.
“(Le decían que) iban a llamar a inmigración para que se llevaran a sus padres y que ella se quedaría sola”, dijo Carranza.

Carranza afirma que la escuela de su hija estaba al tanto del supuesto acoso, pero no se lo dijeron a ella.

(LPL/WREG) – School police are investigating the suicide death of a girl after her mother said other students bullied and called her names, claiming her family was in the U.S. illegally.
Jocelynn Rojo Carranza, 11, died Feb. 8, according to an online obituary. Her funeral was last Wednesday.
Jocelynn was bullied and teased at school over her family’s immigration status, her mother Marbella Carranza told CNN affiliate KUVN.
“(They told her they) were going to call immigration to take her parents away and she would be left alone,” Carranza said.
The family’s immigration status is unclear.
Carranza says her daughter’s school was aware of the alleged bullying, but did not tell her.
Jocelynn attended Gainesville Middle School, according to KUVN.
An investigation is underway, Gainesville Police said in a statement, referring calls to Gainesville Independent School District Police, which is investigating the bullying allegations.
The Gainesville Independent School District did not acknowledge whether it was aware of the bullying reports against Jocelynn.
“Whenever we receive a report of bullying, we respond quickly to ensure all students are physically and emotionally safe. While we cannot release any information about specific students or incidents, our schools have several policies in place to combat bullying and resolve conflicts,” the district told CNN in a statement.
