(LPL/FOX13) – Un hombre recibió un disparo la noche del miércoles dentro de su casa en Orange Mound después de que el hijo de una mujer lo viera estrangulando a su madre, informó la policía.
El hijo, identificado como un joven de 16 años, no fue acusado por el tiroteo.
La Policía de Memphis (MPD) informó que el incidente ocurrió alrededor de las 10 p.m. del miércoles en una vivienda ubicada en la calle Cella, cerca de Park Avenue. Una mujer declaró a los investigadores que fue a la casa del hombre a llevarle comida.
Estando allí, ambos comenzaron a discutir porque ella había llamado a alguien con un número privado, según la policía. Declaró a los investigadores que mientras hablaba por teléfono con su hijo, el hombre la estranguló.
La policía indicó que el hijo de la mujer llegó y vio al hombre atacando a su madre. Fue entonces cuando un arma se le cayó de la cintura a la mujer, lo que llevó a su hijo a recogerla, informó el MPD.
La policía indicó que cuando la mujer y su hijo intentaron irse, el hombre los siguió hasta la entrada, donde el adolescente le disparó. El hombre fue trasladado a un hospital en estado crítico, según la policía.
El ataque dejó a la mujer con hematomas en el cuello, según el Departamento de Policía de Memphis.
La policía indicó que la mujer había presentado previamente una denuncia por violencia doméstica contra el hombre. El hijo de la mujer fue devuelto a su madre y no fue acusado, según la policía.

The son, identified as a 16-year-old, was not charged in the shooting.
Memphis Police (MPD) said it happened around 10 p.m. Wednesday at a home on Cella Street off Park Avenue. A woman told investigators that she went to the man’s house to bring him food.
While there, the two started to argue because she had called someone with a private number, police said. She told investigators that while she was on the phone with her son, the man choked her.
Police said the woman’s son arrived to see the man attacking his mother. That was when a gun fell from the woman’s waistband, leading her son to pick up the weapon, MPD said.
Police said that as the woman and her son tried to leave, the man followed them outside to the driveway, where he was shot by the teen. The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.
The attack left the woman with bruises on her neck, MPD said.
Police said the woman had previously filed a domestic violence report against the man. The woman’s son was released back to his mother and was not charged, police said.
