(LPL) – Un joven de 19 años, identificado como Andrew Lopez, enfrenta cargos por abuso y negligencia infantil agravados, luego de que su hijo de dos meses fuera encontrado con lesiones graves y permanentes.

El incidente ocurrió el 15 de mayo en una vivienda ubicada en Boxdale Street, en el vecindario de Parkway Village. La policía respondió a una llamada de emergencia y encontró al bebé inconsciente. Fue trasladado en estado crítico al Hospital Infantil Baptist.

Los médicos detectaron múltiples lesiones, incluyendo una clavícula fracturada, hemorragias cerebrales y oculares, y moretones en la cara. Posteriormente, el bebé fue llevado al hospital Le Bonheur, donde descubrieron daños adicionales. Actualmente necesita ser alimentado por sonda, y los especialistas indicaron que las heridas son compatibles con maltrato físico y tendrán consecuencias de por vida.

Según el informe policial, Lopez es el padre del menor. La madre también fue entrevistada, pero no enfrenta cargos hasta el momento. Lopez fue ingresado en la cárcel este miércoles y permanece sin derecho a fianza.

A Hispanic man has been charged with child abuse against his own 2-month-old son. The baby had a fractured collarbone and brain hemorrhage

(LPL/FOX13) – A 19-year-old man, identified as Andrew Lopez, is facing charges of aggravated child abuse and neglect after his two-month-old son was found with severe and permanent injuries.

The incident occurred on May 15 at a home on Boxdale Street in the Parkway Village neighborhood. Police responded to an emergency call and found the baby unresponsive. He was transported in critical condition to Baptist Children’s Hospital.

Doctors discovered multiple injuries, including a fractured clavicle, brain and eye hemorrhages, and facial bruises. The baby was later transferred to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, where additional injuries were found. He now requires a feeding tube, and medical staff stated that the injuries are consistent with physical abuse and will have lifelong consequences.

According to the police report, Lopez is the baby’s father. The mother was also interviewed but is not facing charges at this time. Lopez was booked into jail on Wednesday and remains held without bond.
