Hasta 40 disparos se escucharon en tiroteo desde un vehículo que dejó 2 heridos en el vecindario de Castalia Heights

(LPL/FOX13) – Dos hombres resultaron heridos después de que hombres armados abrieran fuego durante un tiroteo desde un vehículo en el vecindario de Castalia Heights el martes por la noche, informó la policía.

Se espera que las dos víctimas, identificadas como un joven de 18 y 21 años, sobrevivan a sus heridas, según el Departamento de Policía de Memphis (MPD).

La policía informó que los agentes respondieron alrededor de las 8:30 p. m. a un tiroteo cerca de Airways Boulevard y East Person Avenue y encontraron a tres personas tendidas en un campo de hierba. Dos de ellas resultaron heridas de bala, mientras que un joven de 17 años que se encontraba con el grupo aparentemente no resultó herido por disparos, informó el MPD.
Uno de los hombres baleados declaró a los investigadores que caminaba con sus amigos cuando una camioneta oscura se detuvo. Dos hombres armados desde el vehículo, incluyendo uno a través del techo corredizo, abrieron fuego, declaró al MPD.

La víctima del tiroteo declaró al Departamento de Policía de Minneapolis (MPD) que creía que le dispararon hasta 40 veces a él y a sus amigos. Luego huyeron y se encontraban en el campo, según la policía.

El MPD indicó inicialmente que una persona había sido detenida. Sin embargo, en un informe policial publicado el miércoles, no hay indicios de que se hayan presentado cargos contra nadie por el tiroteo.

Up to 40 shots ring out during drive-by shooting that injures 2

(LPL/FOX13) – Two men were injured after gunmen opened fire during a drive-by shooting in the Castalia Heights neighborhood on Tuesday night, police said.

The two shooting victims — identified as an 18- and 21-year-old — were expected to survive their injuries, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).

Police said officers responded around 8:30 p.m. to a shooting near Airways Boulevard and East Person Avenue and found three people lying in a grassy field. Two of them were found to have been shot, while a 17-year-old boy with the group appeared to not have been injured by gunfire, MPD said.
One of the men shot told investigators that he walking with his friends when a dark-colored SUV pulled up. Two gunmen from the vehicle — including one through the sunroof — opened fire, he told MPD.

The shooting victim told MPD that he believed up to 40 shots were fired at him and his friends. They then ran off and were later from in the grassy field, police said.

MPD initially said that one person had been in detained. But in a police report released Wednesday, there was no indication that anyone had been charged in the shooting.
