Detienen a hombre previamente deportado y registrado como agresor sexual

(LPL) – Un hombre hispano identificado como Antonio Naranjo Soria, de 48 años y originario de México, fue capturado en Memphis luego de una parada de tráfico realizada por el Memphis Safe Task Force. Las autoridades informaron que Soria fue arrestado por estar ilegalmente en Estados Unidos y posteriormente entregado a la custodia de U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

De acuerdo con el Servicio de Alguaciles de Estados Unidos, Soria había sido deportado en dos ocasiones previas, en 2018 y 2022. Aun así, regresó al país sin autorización. Además, aparece en el Registro de Ofensores Sexuales de Tennessee debido a una condena en 2016, cuando inicialmente fue acusado de violación en el condado de Shelby. Finalmente se declaró culpable de agresión sexual y recibió una sentencia de tres años y seis meses, la cual comenzó a cumplir en febrero de 2017 en el Departamento de Correcciones del Condado de Shelby.

Tras su condena, fue incluido en el registro estatal, donde su estatus actual figura como “inactivo – deportado”. Su información fue actualizada por última vez en mayo de 2025 y muestra una dirección registrada en Luisiana. Las autoridades federales destacaron que su captura se logró durante un operativo rutinario, y ahora Soria enfrentará procesos por reingreso ilegal al país y por sus incumplimientos relacionados con su historial como ofensor sexual.

Authorities reported that Soria was arrested for being unlawfully present in the United States and later transferred to the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Soria had been deported twice before, in 2018 and again in 2022. Despite this, he returned to the country without authorization. He is also listed on the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry due to a 2016 conviction, when he was initially charged with rape in Shelby County. He ultimately pleaded guilty to sexual battery and was sentenced to three years and six months, beginning in February 2017 at the Shelby County Department of Corrections.

Following his conviction, he was added to the state registry, where his current status is listed as “inactive – deported.” His information was last updated in May 2025 and shows an address in Louisiana. The registry also indicates that his last formal check-in occurred nine years ago, suggesting he would not have met reporting requirements if he had remained in the country.

Shelby County court records show additional prior offenses: in 2004, he was convicted of cocaine possession and driving without a license, and in 2003 he was found guilty of speeding and again driving without a license.

Federal officials noted that his arrest was made during a routine operation, and Soria now faces proceedings for illegal reentry into the country as well as issues related to his status on the sex offender registry.pdate on the victim’s condition.
