Dos muertos tras colisión entre un avión y un camión de bomberos en aeropuerto de Nueva York

El avión, un CRJ-900 operado por Jazz Aviation, socio regional de la empresa canadiense, golpeó el camión de bomberos alrededor de las 21H40 del domingo (03H40 GMT de lunes) que estaba atendiendo otro incidente, indicó la autoridad portuaria de Nueva York.
Según una lista preliminar de pasajeros, cuatro de las 76 personas a bordo del avión eran tripulantes, indicó Jazz Aviation en un comunicado.

La Administración Federal de Aviación estadounidense (FAA) anunció el cierre de la terminal y advirtió que posiblemente éste sería “extendido”.

La autoridad de manejo de emergencias de Nueva York advirtió que habría “cancelaciones, cierres de carretera (y) atrasos en el tráfico” cerca del aeropuerto.
El suceso ocurrió en momentos que LaGuardia enfrentaba interrupciones en sus vuelos debido al mal tiempo, dijo la terminal el domingo en X.
Además, los pasajeros tienen que hacer largas filas en el control de seguridad debido a un problema de financiamiento de la agencia estadounidense encargada de la seguridad aeroportuaria.

LaGuardia, situado en el barrio neoyorquino de Queens, es el tercer aeropuerto más transitado de Nueva York y atendió a 33,5 millones de pasajeros en 2024, según datos de la autoridad portuaria.
