St. George’s says head of school ‘not involved’ in sexual assault despite being on leave

(LPL/WMC) – St. George’s Independent School says their Head of School was not involved in the sexual assault that has him on administrative leave.

Multiple students have been expelled amid the investigation.

The St. George’s Board of Trustees said in a letter to the community that the school received a report on November 5 of the assault, which happened in early October in the athletic building after school had dismissed.

The Collierville Police Department confirms it is investigating the incident, but that no charges have been filed.
In addition to the expulsions, Head of School Luke Pruett is on administrative leave while the board of trustees investigates.

“An internal investigation led by outside counsel is also underway into what occurred in this specific situation, and the school is working closely with law enforcement in their investigation,” a letter from the board of trustees said.

The board says Pruett’s administrative leave is part of standard protocol during the investigation.
