Encuesta: 56% de estadounidenses desaprueba la gestión migratoria de Trump

(LPL/AFP) – 56% de estadounidenses desaprueba la gestión migratoria del presidente Donald Trump, cuyos niveles de popularidad han caído hasta 42%, reveló una encuesta de la cadena CBS publicada este domingo, cuando se cumplen seis meses del segundo mandato del republicano.

El sondeo, realizado a 2.343 adultos entre el 16 y el 18 de julio por el instituto demoscópico YouGov, evidencia un descenso en los números de aprobación de Trump, que se situaba en 53% en febrero de acuerdo con pesquisas similares, aunque el apoyo entre su base republicana se mantiene fuerte con 89%.

Para la mayoría de los encuestados (61%), el manejo migratorio es el área que más influye a la hora de evaluar el trabajo del presidente, seguido por otros temas como la inflación (56%), la megaley de exenciones fiscales y recortes al gasto rubricada por mandatario (56%) y el caso de Jeffrey Epstein (36%), acusado de tráfico sexual.

El apoyo al programa de deportaciones masivas de migrantes irregulares impulsado por el presidente también ha disminuido, de 59% en febrero a 49% actual, aunque la política sigue siendo popular entre el 91% de los republicanos.

Redadas migratorias

Según el sondeo, una mayoría (56%) cree que la administración Trump está priorizando la deportación de personas que no son criminales peligrosos, frente a 47% en junio, mientras que solo 42% aprueba la manera en la que el gobierno utiliza los centros de detención para migrantes.

Entre las personas encuestadas, 64% considera que la comunidad hispana es la más afectada por las redadas migratorias, en ascenso en los últimos meses. 78% considera este trato como “injusto”.

Sin embargo, la misma mayoría de 64% reconoce que las políticas de mano dura del mandatario han contribuido a la caída en las cruces irregulares en la frontera sur con México.

Aranceles

A pesar de esto, 70% considera que la administración Trump debería enfocarse más en reducir la inflación, que en junio repuntó 2,7% en lo que analistas ven como el inicio del efecto de los aranceles impuestos por el presidente a sus socios comerciales, a quienes ha amenazado con más impuestos a partir del 1 de agosto.

El estudio de CBS/YouGov documenta 60% de oposición a la subida de aranceles a las importaciones extranjeras y casi dos tercios (64%) no está de acuerdo con el trabajo del gobierno para manejar la inflación, el mayor índice de desaprobación en este sentido registrado hasta la fecha por esta encuesta.

Solo 25% cree que se beneficiará con el ‘gran y hermoso proyecto de ley’ fiscal y presupuestaria del republicano, que según estimados elevará el déficit fiscal de EE UU en unos 2,8 billones de dólares y recortará millones en fondos federales a programas sociales.

Caso Epstein

En cuanto al caso Epstein, las opiniones son dispares y demuestran una relativa insatisfación en la forma en la que la Administración ha manejado la investigación, aunque entre los miembros del movimiento Make America Great Again (MAGA) del presidente el apoyo sigue siendo mayoritario con 60%.

Una mayoría de encuestados (89%) quiere que el Departamento de Justicia revele todos los detalles sobre el proceso.

Este tema ha causado una inesperada crisis entre los simpatizantes más acérrimos del presidente, que después que el FBI descartara la existencia de un listado de clientes y confirmara que el pederasta murió por suicidio, han exigido la publicación de todas las pruebas contra el magnate, como prometió Trump antes de regresar al poder.

La presión de las bases ha hecho que el mandatario ordene publicar toda la información “creíble” y divulgar testimonios del gran jurado.

Poll: 56% of Americans Disapprove of Trump’s Immigration Management

(LPL/FOX13) – 56% of Americans disapprove of President Donald Trump’s immigration management, whose popularity has fallen to 42%, according to a CBS poll released this Sunday, six months into the Republican’s second term.

The poll, conducted among 2,343 adults between July 16 and 18 by the YouGov polling institute, shows a decline in Trump’s approval ratings, which stood at 53% in February according to similar surveys, although support among his Republican base remains strong at 89%.

For the majority of respondents (61%), immigration management is the area that most influences their evaluation of the president’s performance, followed by other issues such as inflation (56%), the mega-law of tax exemptions and spending cuts signed by the president (56%), and the case of Jeffrey Epstein (36%), accused of sex trafficking.

Support for the president’s program of mass deportations of irregular migrants has also declined, from 59% in February to 49% now, although the policy remains popular among 91% of Republicans.

Immigration Raids
According to the poll, a majority (56%) believes the Trump administration is prioritizing the deportation of people who are not dangerous criminals, down from 47% in June, while only 42% approve of the government’s use of migrant detention centers.

Among those surveyed, 64% believe the Hispanic community is the most affected by immigration raids, which have increased in recent months. 78% consider this treatment “unfair.”

However, the same majority (64%) acknowledges that the president’s heavy-handed policies have contributed to the decline in irregular crossings at the southern border with Mexico.

Tariffs
Despite this, 70% believe the Trump administration should focus more on reducing inflation, which rose 2.7% in June in what analysts see as the beginning of the impact of the tariffs imposed by the president on his trading partners, whom he has threatened with higher taxes starting August 1.

The CBS/YouGov study documents 60% opposition to the increase in tariffs on foreign imports, and nearly two-thirds (64%) disagree with the government’s work in managing inflation, the highest disapproval rate in this regard recorded to date by this survey.

Only 25% believe they will benefit from the Republican’s “big, beautiful” fiscal and budget bill, which is estimated to increase the US fiscal deficit by about $2.8 trillion and cut millions in federal funding for social programs.

Epstein Case
Regarding the Epstein case, opinions are mixed and demonstrate relative dissatisfaction with the administration’s handling of the investigation, although support remains at a majority of 60% among members of the president’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement.

A majority of respondents (89%) want the Department of Justice to reveal all details about the case.

This issue has caused an unexpected crisis among the president’s staunchest supporters, who, after the FBI ruled out the existence of a client list and confirmed that the pedophile died by suicide, have demanded the release of all evidence against the tycoon, as Trump promised before returning to power.

Pressure from the grassroots has led the president to order the publication of all “credible” information and the disclosure of grand jury testimony.
