Empleado de gasolinera roba más de 200 dólares de la tarjeta de un cliente

(LPL/WMC) – El Departamento de Policía de Memphis arrestó y acusó a un empleado de una gasolinera, imputado por realizar cargos en la tarjeta de un cliente.

El sospechoso, Tommy Godwin, fue ingresado en la cárcel el 17 de mayo tras ser acusado de robo en la gasolinera Circle K, ubicada en Kirby Road.
Según la declaración jurada, la víctima —una clienta— entró en la gasolinera y pagó varios artículos con su tarjeta de débito.
El Departamento de Policía de Memphis (MPD) señala que la víctima olvidó accidentalmente su tarjeta en el establecimiento.

Posteriormente, la víctima consultó el saldo de su tarjeta y notó que se le había realizado un cargo de 276 dólares en AT&T.

Los agentes informan que la víctima regresó a la gasolinera y habló con el gerente; este pudo revisar las grabaciones de seguridad y observó a Godwin tomando la tarjeta de débito y utilizándola para realizar una compra a través de su teléfono.

Godwin fue detenido posteriormente y ahora enfrenta cargos por uso fraudulento de tarjeta de débito, robo de propiedad y robo de identidad.

Gas Station Employee Steals Over $200 from Customer’s Card

(LPL/WMC) – The Memphis Police Department has arrested and charged a gas station employee accused of making unauthorized charges to a customer’s card.

The suspect, Tommy Godwin, was booked into jail on May 17 after being charged with theft at the Circle K gas station located on Kirby Road.
According to the affidavit, the victim—a female customer—entered the gas station and paid for several items using her debit card.
The Memphis Police Department (MPD) states that the victim accidentally left her card behind at the establishment.

Subsequently, the victim checked her card balance and noticed a charge of $276 made to AT&T.

Officers report that the victim returned to the gas station and spoke with the manager, who was able to review security footage and observed Godwin taking the debit card and using it to make a purchase via his phone.

Godwin was subsequently taken into custody and now faces charges of fraudulent use of a debit card, theft of property, and identity theft.
