Madre de Tennessee es acusada de asesinar a sus dos hijos de 1 y 11 años

(LPL) – Una mujer de Tennessee enfrenta múltiples cargos de asesinato tras ser acusada de matar a balazos a sus dos hijos pequeños en un caso que ha conmocionado a la comunidad de Kenton, en el oeste del estado.

La Oficina de Investigaciones de Tennessee (TBI, por sus siglas en inglés) informó que Jessica Quarles, de 32 años, fue arrestada el lunes y acusada de dos cargos de asesinato premeditado en primer grado, dos cargos de asesinato grave (felony murder) y dos cargos de abuso infantil agravado por la muerte de sus hijos: Landrie Harris, de apenas un año, y McKenna Young, de 11 años. La mujer permanece recluida en la cárcel del condado de Obion sin derecho a fianza.

El caso comenzó el pasado 14 de junio, cuando agentes del Departamento de Policía de Kenton respondieron a una llamada de emergencia en una vivienda ubicada en Jan Lynn Street. Al ingresar al inmueble, encontraron a los dos menores muertos por aparentes heridas de bala. En el mismo lugar hallaron a la madre con heridas de arma blanca, por lo que fue trasladada en estado crítico a un hospital de Memphis. Tennessee Mother Charged with Murdering Her Two Children, Aged 1 and 11

(LPL) – A Tennessee woman faces multiple murder charges after being accused of fatally shooting her two young children in a case that has shocked the community of Kenton, in the western part of the state.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) reported that Jessica Quarles, 32, was arrested on Monday and charged with two counts of premeditated first-degree murder, two counts of felony murder, and two counts of aggravated child abuse in connection with the deaths of her children: Landrie Harris, just one year old, and McKenna Young, 11. She remains in custody at the Obion County Jail without bond.

The case began on June 14, when officers from the Kenton Police Department responded to an emergency call at a home on Jan Lynn Street. Upon entering the residence, they found the two minors dead from apparent gunshot wounds. The mother was found at the scene with stab wounds and was transported in critical condition to a hospital in Memphis. Authorities subsequently launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident.

For more than two weeks, the TBI worked alongside the Kenton Police, the Obion County Sheriff’s Office, and the 27th Judicial District Attorney General’s Office to reconstruct the events. After gathering evidence and concluding part of the investigation, agents filed formal charges against Quarles.

Authorities have not revealed a possible motive for the crime nor disclosed details regarding how the woman sustained her stab wounds. The investigation remains ongoing, and the TBI indicated that further details could be released as the judicial process moves forward.

The tragedy has deeply shaken Kenton, a small community in northwest Tennessee. Days after the discovery, Mayor Danny Jowers described the incident as a “horrific event” and asked the community to keep everyone affected in their prayers, especially the first responders who attended the scene.
