Incendio provocado destruye parte de un edificio de apartamentos desocupado en Memphis

(LPL) – El Departamento de Bomberos de Memphis (MFD) investiga un incendio ocurrido la madrugada de este viernes en un edificio de apartamentos desocupado del vecindario New Pathways, luego de determinar que el fuego fue provocado intencionalmente.

Las unidades de emergencia respondieron al incendio en un complejo ubicado sobre South Orleans Street, cerca de la intersección con Vance Avenue.

A su llegada, los bomberos encontraron el fuego consumiendo una parte del edificio y trabajaron para controlar las llamas. Imágenes del lugar mostraban que uno de los extremos de la estructura sufrió daños considerables.

Las autoridades confirmaron que el inmueble estaba desocupado al momento del incendio, por lo que no se reportaron personas lesionadas, ni entre civiles ni entre los bomberos que atendieron la emergencia.

Tras concluir la investigación preliminar, el Departamento de Bomberos determinó que el incendio fue provocado de manera intencional, por lo que el caso fue clasificado como un acto de incendio provocado (arson).

Los daños materiales fueron estimados en aproximadamente 10,000 dólares. Hasta el momento no se han dado a conocer sospechosos ni se han realizado arrestos relacionados con el caso, que continúa bajo investigación.

Arson Destroys Part of Vacant Apartment Building in Memphis

(LPL) – The Memphis Fire Department (MFD) is investigating a fire that broke out early Friday morning at a vacant apartment building in the New Pathways neighborhood, after determining that the blaze was intentionally set.

Emergency units responded to the fire at a complex located on South Orleans Street, near the intersection with Vance Avenue.

Upon arrival, firefighters found flames consuming a portion of the building and worked to bring the fire under control. Images from the scene showed significant damage to one end of the structure.

Authorities confirmed that the building was vacant at the time of the fire; consequently, no injuries were reported among civilians or the firefighters who responded to the emergency.

Following a preliminary investigation, the Fire Department determined that the fire was intentionally set, classifying the incident as arson.

Property damage was estimated at approximately $10,000. So far, no suspects have been identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the case, which remains under investigation.
