(LPL/UNIVISIÓN) – Decenas de personas que acudieron ayer a su citas en el Departamento de Inmigración, en San Antonio, fueron detenidas en una redada de ICE, que ya los esperaba afuera del edificio.
Los hechos se registraron alrededor de las 11:00 de la mañana en la cuadra 800 de la calle Dolorosa.
En el lugar se observaron al menos dos autobuses llenos de las personas que fueron detenidas afuera del edificio de Inmigración.
“ Mi hijo tenía una cita con un abogado y se lo llevan ahora sin dar ni una explicación de nada”, dijo una mujer que se encontraba en el lugar.
“ ¿Por qué van a llevárselos si no tienen ningún record de nada? Yo no entiendo nada. Ahora veo que delante de mí se llevaron a una muchacha también y no sé a cuántos habrán agarrado allá abajo, que vienen a su cita normal”, dijo la mujer.
Testigos dijeron que más de 20 personas, entre ellas familias enteras con niños, fueron arrestadas por los oficiales federales.
Univisión 41 solicitó información a ICE sobre el operativo y respondieron con un comunicado.
“La Secretaria Noem está revirtiendo una política de Biden sobre ‘atrapar y liberar’ que permitió a millones de inmigrantes indocumentados salir libres a las calles. Esta administración está implementando de nuevo el peso de la ley”, se lee en el documento.
“La mayoría de los inmigrantes que entraron ilegalmente a Estados Unidos en los últimos dos años están siendo dometidos a la remoción expedita. Biden ignoró este hecho legal y eligió liberar a millones de inmigrantes ilegales, incluyendo a criminales violentos en el país con la condición de aparecer ante un juez de inmigración. ICE está siguiendo la ley y poniendo a estos inmigrantes en remoción expedita, como siempre debieron haber estado”, continúa el texto.
“Si tienen un argumento válido y creíble continuarán su proceso de inmigración, pero si no se encuentra ningún argumento válido, los inmigrantes serán sujetos a la deportación”, concluye el texto.
Este tipo de operativos se han estado llevando a cabo en varias ciudades de Texas.

Dozens of Immigrants Arrested by ICE While Attending Immigration Appointments in San Antonio
(LPL/UNIVISIÓN) – Dozens of people who attended their appointments at the Immigration Department in San Antonio on Wednesday the 28th were detained in an ICE raid, which was already waiting for them outside the building.
The incident occurred around 11:00 a.m. in the 800 block of Dolorosa Street.
At least two buses full of people were seen outside the Immigration building.
“My son had an appointment with a lawyer, and they’re taking him away now without giving any explanation,” said a woman who was present.
“Why are they going to take them if they don’t have any records? I don’t understand anything. Now I see that they also took a girl in front of me, and I don’t know how many others they’ve caught down there, who are coming to their regular appointment,” said the woman. Witnesses said more than 20 people, including entire families with children, were arrested by federal officers.
Univisión 41 requested information from ICE about the operation and they responded with a statement.
“Secretary Noem is reversing a Biden ‘catch and release’ policy that allowed millions of undocumented immigrants to walk free on the streets. This administration is once again implementing the full force of the law,” the document reads.
“The majority of immigrants who entered the United States illegally in the last two years are being subjected to expedited removal. Biden ignored this legal fact and chose to release millions of illegal immigrants, including violent criminals, into the country on the condition that they appear before an immigration judge. ICE is following the law and placing these immigrants under expedited removal, as they always should have been,” the statement continues.
“If they have a valid and credible argument, they will continue their immigration process, but if no valid argument is found, the immigrants will be subject to deportation,” the text concludes.
This type of operation has been carried out in several Texas cities.
