Patrulla de policía chocó y se volcó frente a un complejo de apartamentos

(LPL/FOX13) – Un civil y un oficial de policía de Memphis están en el hospital el martes después de un accidente en un complejo de apartamentos cerca de TPC Southwind

El oficial no resultó gravemente herido.

La Policía de Memphis (MPD) informó que el accidente ocurrió poco antes de las 5 p.m. en los apartamentos MAA Southwind en Cart Path Lane. Los investigadores llegaron y encontraron que un oficial se encontraba en un vehículo del MPD cuando este perdió el control, impactó dos bordillos y un árbol antes de chocar contra un auto estacionado en el estacionamiento del complejo de apartamentos, informó la policía.

La policía indicó que el oficial “no se dirigía a una llamada de vehículo ni se encontraba en una emergencia”. La cámara corporal del oficial tampoco estaba encendida en el momento del accidente, informó el MPD.

El coronel Marcus Worthy del MPD declaró a FOX13 que el oficial fue encontrado “inconsciente e incapaz de hablar”.

Police patrol car crashed and overturned in front of an apartment complex

(LPL/FOX13) – An officer who crashed a police SUV into a parked car at an apartment complex in southeast Memphis on Tuesday afternoon was not headed to an emergency at the time, the department said.

The officer was not seriously injured.

Memphis Police (MPD) said the crash happened just before 5 p.m. at the MAA Southwind apartments on Cart Path Lane. Investigators arrived to find that an officer was in an MPD vehicle when it lost control, struck two curbs and a tree before crashing into a parked car in the parking lot of the apartment complex, police said.

Police said the officer was “was not en route to a vehicle call and was not in emergency.” The officer’s body-worn camera also was not on at the time of the crash, MPD said.

MPD Col. Marcus Worthy told FOX13 that the officer was found “unconscious and unable to speak.”
